This is a bizarre question, but it's got me kind of curious.
Yesterday I was reading an interview with Clint Black, one of my favorite country singers, who was asked what he thought people's songs meant to him. He said that there have been a lot of people to approach him and say things like, "Hey, I fell in love to your songs, I proposed to my wife while your song was playing, etc. etc."
That got me to thinking about the thousands and thousands (and thousands) of cheap documentaries currently floating around in which people talk about how they'd be dead if it weren't for Queen.
Now, I don't know what the band members think of this, but it doesn't sound too uplifting to me. Which of those do you think a musician would rather hear (personal experiences are fine) and does anyone know a band member's opinion?
If it were me, I think I'd prefer the I-go-romancing-to-your-songs approach. But that's just me.
