How can I type, in english letters

Im playing FFXI online and most users are from Japan as they had the game for quite some time, most say bad english when I try to talk to them, mostly I would like to ask those 2 things I typed, any one here know?
Ian's message would be helpful if you have Kanji or Hiragana characters programme installed in your pc.
The Japanese speak and write broken English, I advise to try and go easy on them on the Eigo (English).
