hello everyone
I'm an iranian.
Freddie was a persian.his parents were followers of Zarathustra and are from india, but those indians who follow Zarathustrian are iriginally perisna and iranian.
as somebody said freddie's name was faroukh and that's a persian name and there still many people in Iran whose name is faroukh.
So in the end, freddie, even though wasn't born in iran, is originally a persian and iranian.

You guys seem desperate for a hero.
Perhaps it's the language barrier...
The un-deniable facts have been presented, but
for some demented reason few refuse to believe them.

One of my best friends is from Iran and I know her family and relatives and I think Freddie definitely looked like an Iranian. Especially eyes and nose.
And I asked her about all that and she said the same as Pouria.

Do some of you actually read other people's posts?
bohardy wrote: "There's not a "very big possibility that he is from Iran" because the facts are that he was born in Zanzibar and his parents were born in India.
As pma pointed out, his ancestry can possibly be traced back to Iran, but my ancestry can possibly be traced back to France, but I'm about as French as a shaved armpit."
Now there's no arguing with that! Freddie is not from Iran! How can someone with an english passport who was born in Zanzibar out of indian parents be from Iran?

very simple, they were of Zarathustraien beliefs , who escaped from persia(iran) to a iranian coloni zanzibar.
My Friend is from iran , but have lived almost his whole life in sweden , does that make him a swede ? no it dont..
If Freddie weren't from persia , then can somebody explain why his name is persian? and why his look is persian?

"very simple, they were of Zarathustraien beliefs , who escaped from persia(iran) to a iranian coloni zanzibar"
very simple but totally untrue. The Parsis fled from Persia in the 14th century to India, not to Zanzibar. There was never an Iranian colony in Zanzibar.
Freddie's birth certificate which is printed in some biographies says his parents' nationality is "British Indian"

"The Parsis fled from Persia in the 14th century to India"
The articles I've read state 600-900 AD...
"then can somebody explain why his name is persian?"
Care to elaborate since WHEN has a persons FIRST NAME been a definition of ethnic origin. My name is deriving
from Greek Petrus..am I greek ? with your logic I am Greek :S
Your logic fails miserably.
You ignore that his SURNAME which is in many cases revealing of someones ethnic origin is after a town called Bulsar in Gujarat, India The word Balsar is said to mean 'mercury' in many Northern Indian dialects.
And his look is not 'Iranian' or 'Persian' , aqualine noses, dark hair and so forth are not solely found amongst people from Iran, incase you haven't noticed. I doubt the 1st thing people think when they saw Freddie was..oh look at him..he looks Iranian
My father looks quite the bit like a stereotypical Jewish banker from nazi propaganda ...is he a jewish banker ? no he is a Finnish stevedore (well foreman, lol) :P
Get my point ? doubt it.
A few terms (just incase this is a language barrier issue)
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=persian
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=parsee
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=parsi
(to point that Parsi(Parsee and Persian are not synonymes)
I guess now it's time..for me to throw up... I feel it's time..

Guys I really don't understand what some of you are saying?
Freddie, as stated in his birth certificate, is a british citizen. but originally he is a persian.Yeah I know he was born in Zanzibar but the place of birth does not mean that your ethnic is also a zanzibarian or whatever.
I don't really wanna teach a history course in this forum but in 5th or 6th century, after Arabs and muslims took over persia, they forced persians to convert from Zarathustrian to Islam and they also set many limits for followers of Zarathustrian to follow their religion and because of this, a group of zarathustrian moved from Persian to India and they started practicing their religion in India. Those are still called Parsi(which means persian) in India which represents their orgin.
And freddie's parents were also one of those Parsis, now I don't know when did freddie family moved to india or Zinzibar or whatever but I'm sure that freddie had persian blood in his veins.
now if you wanna disagree with me, you are free.

Freddie's last name is Bulsara... a place in India. (Bulsar?)
Anyway, if we are starting like this, then we could very well say that we are all Africans. After all, mankind once began in Africa...

Some people are having a hard time to comprehend the fact that Freddie's not Iranian. The proof is there.

Well.... the question was are freddie's grandparents from Iran??? When you look at freddie himself it's obvious he's got a little middle east in his blood.... i think it's cool freddie's blood i a mixture af some different "bloodtypes"

But what about Freddie's sister!?! You haven't yet discussed about her origin. I'm interested to hear this :))
