Crikey ladies and gents, it's ya old chum former chart topper Captain
Sensible here plugging the marvellous charity Xmas single wot I've
gotten meself involved in this festive season.

Me and a bunch of me old punk colleagues have got together to record
an anti Xmas / Iraqi war song that also puts a well deserved boot
into that vile pop idol phenomenon, which is out now on Shellshock
records.

Its a cracking song too, featuring members of the UK Subs, Damned,
Spizz, ATV, Chelsea, the Adverts and (believe it or not) the
legendary Electric Prunes who have added their own peculiar brand of
psychedelia to the proceedings. Amazing stuff.

The dosh raised helps fund a school for kids with cerebral palsey so
smash open the piggy banks playmates and get yerself down to ya local
record store, demanding...

"Oy salesperson.... bung us a copy of 'ERES YOUR XMAS' by PUNKAID if
you would be so kind, its a damn good tune and all for a good cause
as well," blah blah, etc.

Well, its gotta be better than Cliffs festive (or should that be
festering) pile of dung...

Captain Sensible

Sorry guys i just don't like the guy, anybody who rips off Rogers & Hammerstein then dissapears for 20 years living off the royalties, can go to hell with the rest of the Dammed.

Hey Harvey Chill

Captain asked me to post this so I have to help promote a record which is being released with good intentions. This section of the board is where you can discuss anything you like isn't it. To those offering their support - Thank You!

I bet Captain wishes he had been able to live of the royaltys for the last 20 years as it happens the Damned play around 200 shows a year and are on a UK tour now.

Despite the Punk persona Captain loves Queen, along with Pink Floyd & Hendrix I guess like a lot of people our age (mid 40's) you always remember best where you came from. I asked him about Sid and he said that the story about Sid & Freddie was true they for a short period became friends and used to take the piss out of each other. Remember the Pistols got their big break thru Queen when they pulled out of the Grundy interview & the Pistols were sent by EMI to do it.

I found some pictures from the Damned show last night on yahoo may be of interest to some.

If you can catch them live they really are worth it!

Harvey you really are SAD no ones pretending its a classic of Queen proportions although its much better than the crap Cliff churns out every year!

If you don't want to buy the record don't diz it let others make their own mind up after all it is for a very good cause.

You buy a record and a kid gets some much needed treatment fair deal in my book.
