(Gargles) And I happen to think that some of Freddie solos are the best songs...
I don't like heavy songs like Hitman and Body Language. I used to avoid listening to heavy epic songs (?! Was I a real Queen fan back then?) and later songs in the Miracle. Now, I am enraptured by any song... What wonders time and repeated listening could do... No, really, except for a few heavy pop-style (disco, more likely), I love every single song.

Body Language (Disco crap)
Get Down, Make Love (I hate this song)
White Man (Goes on and on and on and on)
All God's People (Crappy words, crap tune)
Machines (Machines vs Humans? Who cares)

"Even the 'weakest' songs on Queen albums are just as good, if not better, than the majority of material released in an album these days. Now, usually, there are maybe two songs on an album which are bearable, and the rest are filler."
You CAN'T be serious!!!? Do you even BUY albums now-a-days? I wonder what crappy albums you are buying. This statement is not only ridiculous false, but also a proof of the person not liking any contemporary music, maybe the person only likes queen? Open your eyes, search a little, and you will find superb contemporary music. The truth is Queen had lots of filler-songs in the 80's, and lets face it, none of the 80's albums are any strong.

Listening to "Delilah" is worse than shoving shards of broken glass up my ass.
But anyway....
I would just like to inform everyone that I have declared "Procession" the most important Queen song ever.
If anyone has any disagreement, I'd love to hear it.

I disagree..not because I actually disagree but if no one disagreed then you'd be disappointed.

- You are right in the sense that there are lots of other good albums out there... but it is also true that many are after a certain style, rhythm, cliche, beat, etc. and after a while you can't tell whose is whose anymore...
"The truth is Queen had lots of filler-songs in the 80's, and lets face it, none of the 80's albums are any strong."
- I don't think you are necessarily right. The 80s music of Queen is a different style from 70s ones. It is true that 70s songs had more zeal, freshness and rock style to it. However, there are many gorgeous songs in the 80s album, just as musically apt, well-cut and beautiful. Reckon a personal taste cannot be a universal standard... What do you mean, there's no strong 80s album? (that you don't like any 80s Queen songs?) Did you even listen to Innuendo? IMO Sales =/= musicality

Monster, there's quite a lot of songs that many of us consider "fillers" on the 70s albums as well.
Queen couldn't have spent the rest of their career playing the exact same kind of music. Artists are forced to re-invent themselves while still keeping their musical indentity, and that's a very hard thing to do in which very few suceed.
Perhaps Queen went too far by experimenting with other rythms in 'Hot Space' (hence the fan response) yet still the album most Queen fans consider as "their worst" has grown on a lot of them as well... many Queenzoners can tell you that.
Aside from the United States, Queen songs still received constant radio air play around the world, and album sales were quite good as well during the 80s.
If you don't enjoy all the great stuff Queen did through the 80s, that's your loss. I find it sad that you call yourself a fan after denying the huge artistic talent these 4 guys had.

To monster: Of course I buy albums nowadays, but I have great trouble finding any that I can listen to all the way through without skipping any. In fact, I find the only albums I can do this with are Queen albums (and I mean studio albums in both cases).
If you can suggest to me some recent albums which you consider to be the same quality as Queen albums, I'd be very pleased to hear them. I read the musical press regularly to find out about new stuff. I'm only 15 so it would be difficult for me to not try to appreciate 'contemporary music', as I am constantly surrounded by it. Music is extremely important to me so I would not like to think of myself as someone who dismisses music without giving it a chance. I would be very pleased to find a band who can come anywhere close to the quality of Queen, and who are releasing studio albums currently.
Of course I don't ONLY like Queen, I have a very wide range of musical taste. Maybe it is a case of once hearing the best, everything seems to pale in comparison, but I don't think I am as obtuse as that.
As a result, I do not think that I would spend what little money I have on 'crappy' albums without researching them and reading reviews (although a good review is not the sole criterion for success, because, as we know, most bands who are revered today were slated by the musical press when they started out and, in some cases, throughout their career)first.
My 'statement' was just my own view (based upon wide research on contemporary music and a half-decent knowledge combined with massive interest in music from previous years) and therefore cannot be rendered completely false. Just becasue we disagree, it does not mean that one of us is wrong.
However, since you seem to be quite enthusiastic about contemporory music, I would be VERY interested to know which albums YOU have bought recently which you consider 'superb'.
I am not 'its not like in the old days' - type person who is convinced that music is dead (far from it) but still, it would interest me to know what exactly makes you so sure it is still alive.

"The truth is Queen had lots of filler-songs in the 80's, and lets face it, NONE of the 80's albums are any strong." -Heuuuuh...Does the album "The Game" sound familiar, yeah you know Queen's best selling album in the US.Anyway...

Not to start an argument or anything, but popularity doesn't exactly factor into the continuity of any album. Just because The Game was the most popular US album doesn't mean it doesn't have its fair share of filler. I tend to believe the album sold so well based on the popularity of 'Crazy Little Thing' and 'Another One Bites The Dust', but that doesn't mean I'll ever enjoy 'Coming Soon'.

hehe, if they were gonna put any filler on The Game, they woulda at least made it a few minutes longer. The music only totals 35:33.
I love that album, the whole thing. Maybe I'm biased because it was my first Queen album and I've loved every minute of it since I was 9 :-P
