well, if gays are born, then how come there are still gays? shouldn't they not be here because they can't have babies?
but i will always believe in God and will not be against gays :)

People put it this way, our HomoMercury is chillin out with the gods! we gave him our most humble send off and what is more to say?? he did good he did bad its human, he was gay and wasnt straight. . . no shame at all,
God must agree with this cos out of all the wise human of the universe he is the opened to all things, and I dont think he would have any grudge against a little thing like this
its just a human mystery but am just tellin you the natural fact.
Big up Mercury!

you had a dream about it?
sad... looks like this is causing you lots of worries.
keep your opinions, no-one should tell you what to think and your family ought to support you! people have different opinions, if they can't deal with that they still shouldn't make you feel bad.
Be yourself! :)

Having met your mom, Nina, I'm rather surprised by that.

It might be possible to apologize WITHOUT apologizing for the content of the outburst.
Apologize for sending the e-mail (I presume that you wish you only sent the e-mail to your cousin and no one else)
Apologize for upsetting the whole family (you probably did not want to stir up this hornet's nest)
Perhaps apologize for embarrassing your mother and immediate family.
and add any other apology that does not compromise your principles ...
Hopefully the crisis will blow over soon.
By the way, My folks and my wife still love me even though I do not believe in god (although they pity me and worry for my "soul").
Hopefully your family will get over the outburst and love you for who you are.
I meant to reply last night but Queenzone "froze?" at about 10:45 last night so I had to sign off.

Oh well, thought I might help.
I probably wouldn't apologize either. Who wants to apologize when an apology is demanded? ... and apologies are rarely sincere when forced by demands, so why would anyone demand an apology? Demanding an apology is a no win situation for anyone.

People take the bible so literally.
Is it likely that so many people would have implicit faith in Christ, a figure representing UNCONDITIONAL love and forgiveness, if they thought he would condemn someone to eternal damnation if they were gay?
Once again, Christ represents unconditional love, which means that a person will be accepted and loved by Jesus despite their sins. Couple that with the fact that nowhere does it actually state, as fact, in the bible that homosexuality is a sin (although some parts of the Bible may be interperated as suggesting this, but then the Bible can be seen to suggest anything if you want it to) and the thought that a person is automatically sinful and damned seems ludicrous.
In my opinion, as long as you do not harm your fellow beings (physically, mentally or whatever) and you do not detract from the greater good of the world, then you are not sinning.
In the Bible it seems that sins are classified as things that you DO (actions) rather than someothing you ARE (your state). It says in the Bible that God, although he created the world and humans, gave the humans free will (although this could be seen as an excuse for the question 'if God is so powerful, how come bad things happen?'), and so relinquished control of a person's state of mind and heart. Being gay does not harm anyone, so it is hardle a big sin. Would it not be a bigger sin for a person to waste their life in unhappiness becasue they tried to conform to a 'rule' which they incorrectly thorught was an order from God?
By relinquishing control, God gave humans the right to choose what to do with their lives. People have the right to exercise their freedom (within reason and without harming others, because that would be an infringement on THEIR freedom).
If there is a God, I doubt he/she feels genuinly insulted that there are gay people walking around on earth.
It is clearly NOT Christian, however, to insult your fellow beings by telling them they are 'unnatural'.
Slighly off the topic, I once asked a Deacon (the king who workd in a church) if she thought anyone deserved to go to hell, and she said if God sent people to hell, than she didn't want to be christian.
Thats a pretty big risk, isn't it?
