Most impressive on the whole movie to me was Minas Tirith. What a great city!

It waas good, but very, very sloppy. The scenes that he decided to omit and the new scenes he decided to add seemed to be odd choices indeed.
Yeah, from what I hear about it he did make some weird choices of what to cut out. Some pretty important stuff, right?

I don't think that the average visitor (who didn't read the books) misses a lot of information. If you did read the book, wait for the extended version.
Although I still doubt Sarumans appearance and Wormtongues throwing of the Palantir, since Pippin just picked it up like that. It seems like nobody had seen it falling down.

Since there is no sourcing of the Shire, I doubt if we ever see that happening. Maybe he hits Saruman with the Palantir?
