Since I'll probably end up dragging myself to see it when it comes out next year, I checked out imdb.com for some info on the third Harry Potter movie. I can only say this: whoever did the casting was on crack.

Of all the people to play Sirius Black, Gary Oldman is about the last I would have thought of. "Sirius" looks like a cross between Chris Cornell, Freddie Mercury, and someone's pet schnauzer.

Probably wouldn't have thought of David Thewlis to be Lupin either.

Check out this cast pic I found:

Not an attractive bunch, eh? ;)

But maybe Oldman will surprise me.

Gary Oldman is an awesome actor.

He did an excellent job playing that corrupt cop in 'The Professional'.

A great actor indeed, but not who I expected for Sirius, I was hoping (oh god i was hoping!) that they might cast Jeremy Irons as Sirius, both him AND Alan Rickman in a film,,,,,= )YEAH!

I'd rather sit in a bucket of my own filth than watch a Harry Potter film.

I hope he gets crippled.
FLASHMAN STRIKES AGAIN! Paul Rodgers is not the best thing since fried Fred.

I LOVE that movie! Have you seen the un-edited version known as "Leon"?

He may well be a fine actor, but - Gary Oldman as Sirius Black?

For one thing, isn't he supposed to be a bit younger than that?

And c'mon, Flashy, the Potter films are entertaining, if nothing else. Anything with John Cleese in it must be good.

Jeremy Irons as Sirius? Perhaps...
