Has anyone seen this movie? I haven't been able to yet, as my transportation means are somewhat limited and stupid Atlanta is only playing it in select theaters.
I'm a diehard Tim Burton fan, so I'll probably think it's great regardless, but if you've seen it, was it good? And if so, do you think it has a chance at the Oscars?
It's about time ol' Tim got a good rap from someone.

I hope to see it soon. I quite like Tim Burton. Although Planet of The Apes was horse shit...

Ah, yes, but I never pass up a chance to watch Edward Scissorhands again...
And yes, I admit it, I loved Beetlejuice and Sleepy Hollow.
As this movie has Albert Finney, Ewan MacGregor, and a few other assorted names dropped in it, it can't be bad. If it had only had Alan Rickman, I'd have had my tickets reserved a week prior to the opening!

Some of it was filmed in my hometown. Is there a scene with a bunch of vintage cars? There were a bunch of cars lined up at a school one day supposedly for the movie.
Also, I know like four extras from the movie. Bah dah ching!

I saw it. The theater I saw it at was extremely small, and the movie-goers were packed in rather tight. I saw it with my friend, who sat to my right, but a girl unknown to me sat to my left. Towards the end, things get a bit emotional, and this girl had started to sniffle a little bit.
I turned to her and said, "Hey, I went fishing the other day." She gave me a confused sort of look, and I said, "Yeah, I caught a fish thiiiiiiiiiiis big," and proceeded to put my arm around her shoulders.
Her response? A slap on my face just as the credits start to roll, so she and her girl friends storm out.

Saw it tonight. Rather excellent, I must say.
The football game was filmed at the school and the swamps were all locally shot.
