I am looking for queen-interviews where they talk about John Lennon or mention him. Can anyone help me? I know Freddie was a huge fan, Brian a huge fan and Roger a fan at least.

One of Brian's fav songs is Jealous Guy by John Lennon.

A debate I've been having with a number of people is whether Lennon is seen as a cult hero purely because he is dead?
Let me explain both Lennon & McCartney individually and collectivly have written many classic songs but its well over 20 years since Lennon was tragically shot. In the last 20 years since Lennons death McCartney has become the Gradaddy of POP almost Cliff's successor. He's been Knighted, headlined Part at the Palace and not really done anything controversial whereas before Lennon died he had just been deported from Japan for carrying coccaine and was seen as a bit of a bad boy.
The point I'm making is if it had been McCartney who had been shot would we be viewing him as some sort of god like cult hero now rather than Lenon in other words "Would he have been so hot if he was not dead?"

Rich Tea: No, Lennon wouldn't have the cult-status he has now, if he hadn't been killed, but I highly doubt Paul would be idolized in the same way. Lennon was a very personal artist, and a more intimate one, expressive and a person people identifies to, more then McCartney who makes songs about Fixing a hole and Ob-la-di-ob-la-da.

That's exactly my point, spepper.
I was just using some of the most obvious examples, nothing more. Paul had a bigger distance to his fans, and not sharing his heart and soul like Lennon did.

Big deal... Over the last 40 years, I'm sure about 10 million people have said that same thing. Everyone in or close to the genre (not counting those who are ignorant) in *some* way has been influenced by The Beatles.
