Paula, hmmmm too nice.
Simon, great as ever!
Is anyone watching this? :P

i am totally hooked on this show...i hate most of those reality type shows or whatever they are, but american idol is great! i love simon!

Well I'm sure this is not going to boost my popularity in here but here it goes anyway.
I hate that show and this is why.
They show the ones of course who make it and then they show the ones who SUCK the most.
The ones who are mediocro do not get aired. This is problem #1 for me.
#2 It pisses me off how they exploit those who are tone deaf.
Why all the freaking humiliation!?
I don't know its just sad.
I am not tone deaf but many times people who know how well i sing have come up to me to ask me how i can stand listening to someone we have both heard who is tone deaf and procede degrade them to me.
It pisses me off because singing should be an expressive feeling of whatever emotion you are wanting to bring to mind.
whose to say you cant sing coz your tone deaf.
I say singing makes me happy thats why i do it.
Even the tone deaf have the right to feel that feeling you get when you sing.
Singing can validate my feelings
and
these days I could really use some validation.
Ok my 2 cents.
peace,
Rosanna

Actually some valid points you brought up, CHARLES. Yes, we know who it is.
What is with these people who cannot sing? How do they make it to Randy, Paula and Simon? Does someone not screen them for talent? I think too much is made of the losers who wail out a song just so Simon and Randy can tee off on them. Instead of three nights of this and Ryan Seacrest's preening, keep it to one simple night. And jettison Paula. These people already have a mother who pats them on the head and tells them they are special; they do not need Paula to do it. What does she add to the show? "I like the colors you are wearing" ?!?!? What?

NOW you're worried about your popularity?!?!? Charles still loves you (or is that called mutual masturbation?)

You have your opinions rossana, that's cool. However I beg to differ, this portion of the show is hilarious.

I personally find it ironic really.
Paula Abdul is a horrible singer (all nasaly), and yet she is judging this competition.
Blythe, I think she said about the chick's dress was a maneuver of "trying" to salvage her self esteem.

People! Please! If you are going to fight about Rossana/Charles, do it in another thread. Charles posts various thread, fight there.

Remember the chick who did the Flashdance song in tonight's show? She was a fake LOL

What a great actress! LOL
Oh, btw, this is the list of the songs/bands that are not allowed to be performed on AI 3, very interesting list.

There was an article in our local papar about a gal who made it through to Hollywood. She went through two screenings- the first with two other singers in front of a group of producers, a second by herself in front a couple more people- before being sent to the Big Three.
It's clearly obvious from this that some of the tone deaf people are sent through just to be ridiculed. It's unfortunate, but the situation is being manipulated more than we know.

They aren't searching for the next Luciano or Montserrat, folks. The judegs are looking for someone who is going to be a superstar. Am I the ONLY one who was watching last year when Simon complimented that Carmen girl and told her she had a "commercial" voice? That's not a bad thing, but it definitely spells out what they're looking for.
If someone's looking to be in a) the opera, or b) the local punk scene, they're not going to go on this show.

oh my...i'm hanging my head tonight...i can't believe houston turned out so poorly! and i can't believe that guy threw water on simon!!

LOL I saw the Houston show. It was awful, but funny awful.
I heard that there is a pre-audition before the actual audition for the judges, is that true?

My husband and I were watching last night and of course i was ranting on how the tone deaf were being exploited and he brought a good point.
He told me sometimes it takes you seeing and hearing yourself recorded before you realize how painful it is to listen to you sing when you lack the skills and tallent.
I thought that was a valid point, but still I hurt for those who love to sing and have a dream and get crushed on national television.
And btw Simon is my favorate judge. I just don't care for the producers of the show.
