that was quick! whats the code for adding two fields together in access to make a new field that is filled in automatically when the others are entered in? i don't think i've got the syntax right :os

The syntax is RTBM x2 which means: read the bloody manual, twice if you have to ;-)

access like microsoft access? why use that? excell is much easier, cos you can tell the program to enter things in cells according to other... never mind.

Personally, I try to avoid using Visual Basic in Access as debugging is usually incredibly frustrating. I'm ususally limited to If Then statements ...

Believe me if i cld use excel i wld but it's a college project and Access and VB are mandatory. never mind tho i've sorted out the prob. Just wait till next time it decides it doesn't like me.........
