Why were these never included on any albumn? Does anyone know what these songs are about? I think they are great songs and the guitar work is Brians best tone ever.

I read somewhere (here, actually) that Brian and Freddie considered 'A Human Body' was too melodic for "The Game" and that 'Coming Soon' was supposed to be the B-side.
'Soul Brother' I think was just a throwaway jam that they pulled out for the B-side of 'Under Pressure' when Bowie didn't want their collaboration of 'Cool Cat' as the flip.
'A Human Body' is one of my favorite songs, much better than 'Coming Soon'.

It seems like as short of an albumn as the game is they could have easily put it on. To me melodic wouldn't be a bad thing.

Non-album tracks used as b-sides increase single sales. But, just feel lucky they did release them on a single. If it weren't proper tracks for an album Queen might as well have NOT released them in any way.

Doesn't Roger hate A Human Body?
At least that was the word going around when it didn't show up on the new DVD-A of The Game.

I heard that too, except that rumor went way back to when The Game was initially reissued on US CD.

Brian recently posted on his soapbox that 'Soul Brother' was a tune Freddie wrote about Brian. Listen to the mix, and it sounds like something from 'The Game' sessions, and not HS. imho, it would have been a dreadful track for an LP.
AHB needed a bit more 'polish'. Would have fit perfectly on Roger's FIS album.

i love A human body & Soul Brother!!!!
i agree they are better than coming soon ;)
anyawy when they released THE GAME "coming soon" (maybe) was in the mood of the album

Roger was so proud of 'A Human Body' and wanted it on the album instead of 'Coming Soon', but Fred and Brian argued that the album would be too melodic with AHB because they had already written three downbeat songs for the album (I guess they were Save Me, Play The Game and SASS).
I think the recordings of 'Soul Brother' are from The Game era instead of Hot Space era. I can't prove it though

Impossible. The song makes reference to 'Under Pressure' amongst other songs so that of course had to come first.

Perhaps 'Under Pressure' was just another line of the song, and later on they wrote a song with that title, like Dragon Attack and Back Chat

Deacon Fan - Fat Bottomed Girls & Bicycle Race refer to each other - apply your logic to that, would you?

Too bad A Human Body hasn't been released in digital quality yet. I don't even think I've seen a "CD Quality" version leaked yet.

I figured there would be arguments over this. First of all, many sources can confirm the recording date, whatever it is, so there isn't an argument really. Why would everyone involved dream up a grand conspiricy to mislead folks as to when one little song was recorded? But anyway,
Yeah, you know what? You're exactly right! Soul Brother must be where they came up with the final title for 'Under Pressure' (originally it was "People On The Streets"). Thank God that mystery is solved!
One of the books I read recently, either Hutton's or Phoebe's, mentioned the writing of the song and most likely the date as well.. I recall Freddie telling Brian that it was written for him but Brian didn't take it too seriously since it had been written so quickly. This must have been in Phoebe's book, as Hutton wouldn't have been around back then and the Phoebe book I read is now back at the library. I'm sure someone else can find this passage.
P_G, I'm not sure what you mean about FBG & BR. They are obviously from the same sessions so I see nothing strange about the cross-referencing there.
Was 'Headlong' inspired by the line in 'Breakthru'? There are many examples like that. The entire 'Paradise Theatre' concept is said to be inspired by a line in 'Blue Collar Man'. Oh wait, that was STYX. I get them confused with Queen all the time :-P

Soul Brother could have been recorded in 1979/1980 but not included in albums or singles until 1981. The ´Under Pressure´ line can easily be a coincidence and not neccesarily inspired the song, or inspired BY the song.
