BoRap could never bore me as it truly defined the uniqueness and the incredible talents and emotions of Freddie. This was his "baby". When you hear, in my opinion, the name Freddie Mercury, the song Bohemian Rhapsody comes to your mind. It's one of those songs that will live on forever--a true classic that will never die. It's not a boring song; how could it be boring?

It doesn't matter how great a song is. Too much overplaying gets quite annoying.
Even 'Stairway To Heaven' was getting boring through the 70s after being heard so many times on record stores. There's even a reference of this situation on 'Wayne's World'.
Of course this doesn't mean that songs like 'Stairway To Heaven', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', or 'Hotel California' are boring. Just that people don't want to hear the same song for a million times.

I find Bohemian Rhapsody to be extremely overplayed, and I have heard it so many times that I can play it perfectly in my head, and even then I'm tired of it. It's a great song and all, but it's like 'Stairway To Heaven' or any other overexposed song: it just becomes tiresome to listen to it all the time. I've given up on Bohemian Rhapsody (hell, even Queen for a little bit) to expand my horizons instead of listening to the same old damned song over and over.

I'm with you, Barb. I skip it every time....video, concert or cd. Also Radio GaGa, Crazy, and a couple of others. It's not that I don't like them, I'm just sick of hearing them. I guess for some of us it's also a matter of hearing it since it first came out. Truth be told, I never got tired of it in the 70's or 80's, it was after Waynes World.

Listen to the Bad News version a few times... you will WANT to hear the real version.. ;-)
BTW, I am that way with Radio Ga Ga.. I had heard it soooo much that I lost interest in it.. of course it could have been because I recorded myself singing it (thank GOD my mom threw that away.. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away)

Very tired of it. At first I had the Greatest Hits compilation I, later II when it came out, and whenever I bought another Queen-album I always skipped the songs that I already new from the compilations. That's very much the case with Bicycle, which I maybe played five times in the last ten years or so since I owned the Jazz album. But BoRhap and almost all other "hits" are no more played in my stereo. And since last summer I don't have any Queen music with me so I didn't listen to any, but sometimes it happens I want to hear Queen II, NOTW or maybe some other song from the 70s. I still like live recordings of most of the songs.

Hummm...i don't have this Bored feeling at all with BoRhap!!!!At all!!!
Some stuff from Hot space sometimes are boring (Body language) and some other songs (Coming soon, Get down make love) can bore me after some listening because they are "repetitive"...but Bohemian Rhapsody NO!It is an ecletctic song, the opera part can be listened times and you can òlisten some new features!! maybe you have listened it far TOO many times...i canunderstand, but if you quit listening for a little period then you will appreciate it again.
It's a mesterpiece. i would never stop looking Mona Lisa's smile (the most famous Leonardo's work...not the movie!!!) and i would never stop listening BoRhap.
Just think if your wish becomes true and you will never listen it again!!!!!!!!Argh...what an unlucky event would be!!

I used to be tired of it and stopped listening the song for months, until November last year when I started recording my version. Now I'm planning three more different versions apart from the one I already finished, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to hate that song after that

Deacon Fan: Here's a list of songs that need to be retired for awhile:
-Bohemian Rhapsody
-Walking On Sunshine (Retire forever, destroy all masters, stop licensing, develop a way of permanently deleting from memory)AMEN!
-Sara (Starship)
-Boys Of Summer
-Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
-Sweet Home Alabama
-And many more!
My friends & I have talked about this very topic for years. We refer to them as "Shelf Songs", we all know they're a classic but its time to put them up on a shelf. You can add;
Black Dog, Rock & Roll, Hey Jude, Life's been Good to Me, oh & don't for get Rock & Roll All Night.
Any others you would like to add to the "Shelf List" ? This could be the start of a new game.

I dont think Bohemian Rhapsody needs to be retired at all, maybe its because im 13 and didnt listen to it nearly every day since 75. but I got it on cd, and listened to it every day for 3 months, during the summer, and i still love it,6 months later (i don't listen to it every day) it is just like the first time I hear it, every time i hear it, except i know the words. It still gives me that magical feel!

A song that actually never ever bores me is Hammer To Fall. And there's no reason for it, I simply think it's brilliant!
freddies_chicka · Member since
I agree! I love hammer to fall. My favorite part is,
"WHAT THE HELL WE FIGHTING FOR! Just surrender and it wont hut at all!"

I know a couple of songs that were too goddamn overplayed. Some so overplayed at the time they were hits that people don't want to hear them ever again.
Every Breath You Take... The Police
Eternal Flame... The Bangles
I Will Always Love You... Whitney Houston
Don't Speak... No Doubt
