It took me about a month and a half to finally get there when anyone else was there. I can't recommend the java version on the site here. I never did get it to work.

It's true, IRC is the best chat option but the java chat room works, too, it's just a little slow, you need java script enabled to use it.
When you click on the "chat" link on the Queenzone main page, the chat room loads. You do not need to click on "connect", the room opens automatically. You will see yourself as guest in bold print. Type a nickname into the bar and hit enter. Now you can chat with the other users.
