Specifically who are the guys trying to portray? I know they're characters from Eastenders/Coronation Street but do they have names? Or is the set that IWTBF on just a house in the series?

I'm not much help, but I'm pretty sure they explain who is who in the commentary on GVH2.

Freddie's character was loosely based on Bet Lynch. I don't remember where I read that, but it was discussed why he used a dark wig and not a blonde one.
