On my site (download / video) you can now find the Queen Live Aid performance. It's the Queen medley, ITTWWC and Do They Know it's Christmas. It's no dvd quality of course but this is the best I can offer from my home-taped 19year-old videotape. If it's not already in the hub, perhaps someone can share it there too.

Yeah I did. Sorry for having it there for just a couple of days. But I will bring it back later. I had to make space (500MB diskspace was all used) for the second series of Japanese cardboard cd's. First three tracks are available now. Next 3 will be uploaded soon.

Live Ad organiser Bob Geldof has led police to a suspected music pirate, in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. The man was arrested in a raid last Thursday on suspicion of selling on the internet DVDs of the 1985 Live Aid charity concert, and was bailed without charge, pending further investigation. The BPI said that a 10-DVD set was on sale for £110.
Geldof had spotted the DVDs on sale late last year, told his lawyers, who alerted the authorities. He was "really sickened" at someone making money from DVDs that should have gone to charity.
A PC and small quantity of Live Aid DVDs were recovered by police, along with discs of other concerts by bands such as Pink Floyd and U2.
Live Aid, was prompted by a global outrage to the famine in Ethopia, and was one of the most momentous music events in recent history, taking place in London and Philadelphia, featuring a host of stars including U2, Queen and Madonna and raised money to help the starving in Africa.
Music pirates tend to keep only small stocks of discs in case of discovery. The computer's hard disc would be examined in an attempt to find how many had been sold.

GOOD. I knew it didn't feel right when I saw that set.

Now perhaps Bob will concentrate his efforts on making an official DVD set available to benefit the charities he spoke of.

That's all well and good, but I don't personally see a 14 year old television event as a major threat to profits from an official set which doesn't exist.

The record industry bitches and whines about the bootleg industry, but they hold the power to stop bootlegging ...

Release the music that people want (even if it is not a "Gold" seller)

Instead diehard fans are left with drawn out empty promises of next year's "NEW" release, and choose to take the easy way out by repackaging and re-releasing previously released music.

"He was "really sickened" at someone making money from DVDs that should have gone to charity."

This struck me as odd. I agree that all profits from Live Aid should go to charity, but are there any profits from Live Aid anymore?

I Totally agree with you,I wouldn't like a new reissue
from a "official" concert from the next DVDs, I would love
an unpublished DVD, something like the How the west was won from zeppelin or Led Zep's DVD (You imagine can see and ear, enjoy more than five hours of Queen alive), with concerts never before seen (not officially,of course), remasters with best quality in audio and video(no like DVD-r),That would be Great !

Dios Salve A La Reina !

...Now The Queen is back, what you think of that!
And as the seasons turn the days to years She holds her pictures, hears the silent cheers The days grow lonely for the dancing Queen And now she dances only in her dreams...
