On Monday, I'm handing my notice in at work after 15 years, straight from school.
I haven't got a new job yet - I've applied for a few but so long in the same place is going against me so I have to take the plunge and get out there.
I'm SCARED!

Don't do it! Sleep with the boss and get a promotion!
Only teasing - may fortune and providence greet your every step.

Never leave a job without getting a new one. They'll wonder why you don't have a job and think you are just a tenement funster.

Speaking from experience, I agree.
It may suck, but you really handicap yourself without having another job lined up. I'd suggest sticking it out until you can find something else.

Thanx guys
On Friday I discovered that, having been told there was no money available to tempt me to stay and also that my boss considers my wages sufficient to single-handedly run a home on, my junior colleague (4 years younger, 4 years less experience) had a pay-rise of £163 between January and February. This may be because she wasn't originally awarded a pay-rise last April and has had back-pay. Alternatively, it means that she now gets £80 a month more than me.
