Well I like Miracle very much, cause you can see although they might not rehearse together a lot (I know they want more), the sound is perfect. When you go to a gig than you are sure to have a good time. They are very good musicians and good friends. They don't back out for a challenge like the Prophet's Song.
What I don't like at all is pretenders (like Mercury or Queenmania or any other so called coverband) that prance around on stage and learn the Magic show out of there heads or copy any other live performance and BE Freddie.
If I want to see Freddie Mercury I'll watch a video!!
Miracle plays real music.
The rest(Mercury, Queenmania, JSS, others...)is all an act.

"I have never heard The prophets song performed live before this (Queen didn't even do that!).""
They did - from 1975 to 1977 I think.
Miracle live kicks ass - their live-albums aren't that good IMO. I've got the first one and heard snippets from the new one , but somehow it doesn't get me - while their live shows are great. By far the best coverband I've seen, though Nilsson @ the DQM in 2000 was also great, but they weren't a real coverband, they just did a Queen set.

When and where are Miracle playing in London, I can't see any mention of it on the future gigs listing on their website.
Miracle are the best tribute band I have ever seen or heard and after 15 conventions I have heard a few.

Theres a Nortern-Irish tribute band called Flash Harry that are meant to be very good; I have never had the pleasure of seeing them live though.

I've only ever seen one tribute band..." Magic - a kind of queen" and they were great... super harmonies!
and a decent setlist too!

Queen cover bands are okay, they bring back the memories of QUeen....
As long as people enjoy singing the songs of others, and as long as others enjoy to listen to them then it is fine I think
Songs sang alive or not, no group shall ever come close to the original
THere are good bands, sure Miracle is the best Dutch cover band, they are doing a good deal, but that counts as well for some other bands from other countries
And yes, there is crap too, and yes, I am looking forward to hear the best german coverband mayqueen playing in March at the queenparty in waalre

I should have said: "I have never heard The Prophets song performed live before (to my knowledge Queen never did that)"
I admit I have seen some video's of Queen performing PARTS of The Prophets song, not the whole thing!
btw wstüssyb: I never said I knew it all... how did you come to that conclusion??

Hey Fatty, had your ears shringed lately?, they must be full of haggis, or it could be all those droning bagpipes, stick to listening to the Krankies mate, and the A1 is the best thing to come out of Scotland.

Sorry Fatty old bean I must question your wisdom on the demeaning of the band 'Mercury'.
I may have been well sloshed but I have a hazy rememberance of them being quite good. In fact a cringeworthy memory was dancing at the front of the venue with Flashman and touching 'Brian May's' foot, which thrilled me no end.
I also remember tapping off with a bird with hair like Sideshow Bob and Flashy got a right stunner (so he tells me).
Infact unless a tribute band starts off well with there first three songs I'm oblivious to it all.
Mind you that said Killer Queen were awesome (for three songs anyway). The rest is a blur of Brian May wig, vodka and a crown green bowling green.
Oh how we laughed in the cells.

Your absoloutely right Mr Goldsmith. I am one of those stereotypical Scotsmen you read about in comics. A typical day for me would start at 6.00am and after donning my kilt and 'see you Jimmy hat' I would enjoy a breakfast of porridge washed down with a half bottle of whisky. Then with my haggis sandwiches packed in my sporran, it's off to the highland games I go. After a busy morning of tossing cabers I go roamin in the gloamin and shout 'OCH AYE THE NOO' at the top of my voice. I return home each evening and after eating more haggis washed down with 6 bottles of whisky I put on my Krankies cd and do the highland fling. I settle down to watch the fitba on telly and enjoy watching Scotland get beat 12-0 by the Patagonian paperboy eleven.
Then I wink suggestively at my sheep and we have an early night. I am all those things and more.
What puzzles me is what part of my stereotypical Scottish image prohibits me from liking one particular Queen tribute band. The reason I thought Mercury were shite has nothing to do with being Scottish. The reason I thought Mercury were shite was because they were shite.
Just like the reason you are a half witted waste of skin has nothing to do with the fact you are English. It's because you have no redeeming features to speak of.
Now if you would like to debate this any further might I suggest that you back up your argument with something a little more credible than tired old racist bullshit.
fatty.

'after donning my kilt and 'see you Jimmy hat'
Please let that be the title of your autobiography Fatty.
Absolutely priceless.
