Recently there have been a few of those who either lack resource to Google for 10 minutes, or who post for the sake of posting. (like those people who speak for the sake of listening to their own voices). All fine and good, but be prepared to be welcomed by some saucy words if your comments or questions fall under these categories.
Type 1: "Who is..." type. The most basic: Yes, unfortunately there are a few fans who get the names of Queen members mixed up (!). This type of questions branch into things like "Who is Mary Austin?" "Who is Jim Hutton?".
Type 2: "What is..." type. It usually starts with "I love Bohemian Rhapsody!" (I do too, and those who don't, well, you know.) and ends with "what is your favourite Queen song?" I actually like answering these questions, but... even Bohemian Rhapsody gets boring with repeated listening, so why wouldn't this question be? Many variations are found, including "What is the worst Queen song?" Recently, however, there were some remixes of this type of question that were fresh and hilarious, so there is still hope.
Type 3: the "Gay" issue. This truly has a huge potential to reveal bigotry and idiocy in everyone. (and open-mindedness and wisdom, conversely). One argues "Freddie wasn't gay! It was a big conspiracy!" and another says "he was bi!" (As if being a bi was something superior to being gay). Some ask "does anyone know who spread AIDS to dear FM?" Truly, I don't want to find out. I would rather know to whom Freddie spread the disease. The topic gets very fascinating the moment the religious discussion starts - all hell breaks loose.
Type 4: Good ol' Deacy. Every once in a while someone just has to ask "where's John?". I think there should be a page set up to update upon his whereabouts for those in need of such info. (Fatty will be perfect for the webmaster of the site.- it's a compliment!) My advice is: go to Brian's soapbox. If John ever turns up, that site will be the first to notify you.
Type 5: Contacts. "I really would love to send a letter/email to Roger/John/Freddie (!)". I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the last case. The theme develops to "I want to write to/contact Jim/Mary/(any of Rog/Bri's ex's)." Sorry, dude, not everyone's Brian May.
Type 6: Bio questions. Queenzone.com is actually not the most resourceful in terms of bio information, but there are countless versions of bios that you can google up online. Wanna know Rog's son's name? Freddie's cat's name? Queenzone is not the first site to explore if you have that sort of questions.
Type 7: Some creative questions. Makes me laugh, both the question and the reply. I don't want them to die away completely... after all, some might really be curious about Brian's hair... and getting to see the wonderful picture of Brian's hair flying off...
Type 8: Download topic. Be prepared to duck the legal traps as you throw questions like "how do you download the Jazz album?" around. Actually, you can download the album legally: 99c each song, wholesale. @.@ I'd rather buy the CD.
... and the list grows as some more interesting people add to the previous interesting threads.
