a slight newbie rant

ok i'm in a bit of a..let's say...confrontational mood and need a little rant.

I am a 'newbie' to this message board, however that doesn't make me a new Queen fan. I have been a fan since i was 8yrs old when i raided my dads record collection...that makes it almost 12yrs now. I own every album on cd and dad has some of them on records, i love every song they have written, i respect how talented they are as a group and as individuals. Infact there music has become a soundtrack to my life. The only problem is i'm the kind of fan that doesnt know every single tiny detail about Queen and it's members. If that makes me a bad person, or a bad fan then fine.

I understand that those of u who have been on this board for a while heve probably discussed every single Queen topic under the sun and probably know tiny details that i don't, and as a result are getting bored or annoyed when new people start the usual topics. Infact i agree with you that some questions neednt be asked as it should be blatantly know by Queen fans. Yes they could use google to find out the answer, but i thought this place is a message board where queen fans can talk to other queen fans and can find out what they need to know with all the help they can get. There have been some questions i didnt know the answer too until i read the replies so thank you for helping me out..but i didnt reply to the topic because i didnt need to.

I'm ranting on abit now sorry..i dont mean to offend anyone i'm just asking if people can be a little less aggressive or annoyed with newbies on this board as they have every right to be here just as much as you...even though they dont know every single tiny detail.

there...i'm done...abuse me all you want, but that rant made me feel better anyways ;D i also actually like all you guys and think ur knowledge and sense of humour is great! ;D

Well, I'm pretty new here, but noone was ever agressive if I asked sth.. But the truth is people get a little annoyed when someone asks is it true that Freddie died from AIDS and similar questions:).. I believe noone wants to be rude or anything like that.. Feel free to ask whatever you want and don't pay attention if someone is rough with you:)

welcome to the board! and everybody here wasn't born with all this queen knowledge...except for a select chosen few...you know who you are...we all learned it from somewhere, so don't be afraid to ask questions if there's something you want to know!

Not all of us will get snippy if we're asked innocent questions, Fairy. Put whatever you want on the damn board. If we only ever created topics that hadn't been talked about before, we'd have nothing to talk about.
