No need to let the facts get in the way of the hysteria....
We KNOW why Brian met the Darkness - he took them to the musical - granted he could have discussed something else with them, but I doubt the Sunday People would know anything about it.
Secondly, PIM HAS THE CORRECT DATE FOR SSOR.
Thirdly, Queen's 30th anniversary was either Jan 2001, or, in terms of recording, July 2003. Why would they choose SSOR?
This post will be followed by the same tired old argument about frontmen. Robbie Williams, George Michael, Jeff Scott Soto, Robbie Valentine, Pink.
Wake me up when something FUCKING HAPPENS!

seeing the Darkness Wed. 3/31 in Pittsburgh...wondering if Justin wil say anything. In the new Spin he says his favorites bands are Queen, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, and Neil Diamond. Ah well!

If it happens, great.
If it doesn't happen, great too.
I really don't care about this Queen + anymore.
They can stage a benefit for people with no assholes for all I care.

I never compare because it's fruitless. What good comes from comparing? F-all! I take a similar approach to Shoujo - great if it happens and who cares if it doesn't? I'd be happy just to see some of the guys playing. And of course to hear good live music.
I'm sick of neysayers. It's getting old and very...er... harmful? The last few months have seen much negativity to anything they do. There are very few things that I would never want from them. Let them be who they want to be. We're just watching their lives and I feel extremely privelaged to be on the receiving end of anything they happen to do these days.
Like it, don't like it, it's your call. But please, why all the name calling?
Peace,
Adam.

I agree with the people who wouldn't like it :S.
That Justin guy doesn't even come near to what Freddie could, in my opinion he would just ruin the Queen songs he would sing...
I'd rather see a Queen gig with Freddie on a big screen or so, than some guy taking his place.

I think it's great. I still love it when Roger and Brian play together. A good singer will do the rest!

Brian at his website:
OK - might as well be clear about this BBC report. It's utter rubbish. - are you guys at the BBC REALLY so gullible as to take a report in "The People" as truth???
And "Poodle -Permed" ??? Grow up, you asses... and get a life...

I knew it was BS! BM and RMT are too busy in Las Vegas with the US debut of WWRY to bother with a one-off show. Besides if they were planning a show of any sort we would have heard about it long before now.
You just cannot pull a show together lickity-split, it takes quite a bit of planning and I am sure Brian May and Roger Taylor would not settle for anything but the best if they were doing it for Mercury Phoenix Trust in memory of FM even if it was a one-off show. Any fan of Queen would know this, and expect nothing less.
However, you have in the musical press a few lame-asses who hate Queen and hate The Darkness and want to put them in the same "boat" so to speak (NME anyone!) so it is not surprising to me at least that they made up such a BS story, hey, guess it sells newspapers, or they wouldn't have bloody bothered now would they?
Notice how they wait until BM is out of the country to release their BS too!
