'We hadn't done a new studio track with meself as lead vocal since '97, so I wanted to try my luck at singing again.
oh, uh, yeah, I did 'Electric Fire' after that. So I guess my solo career is more recent than that of a bandmate.
I wanted to get up on stage and sing 'Rock and Roll' with the original artists. Answered the 'drummer needed - Ginger Baker Cream style preferred' ad that Unleaded+ placed in The Sun. I got the urge to join when SAS + closed the Hollywood star gig with that tune. Brian kicked arse, and I sang my lungs out. Also, I've been aching to do yet another set of covers for another band. Somehow the process of putting together all 34 WWRY versions on the WWRY double CD grew tedious, mate.
The next project was going to be dubbing all the live WWRY versions onto the WWRY live version 10CD box set, due Christmas 2004. That's pretty much done anyhoo, as Justin needs to add a splash here and a knosh there.
As long as Jason Bonham helps me on drums, I'm set. As for vocals, I'm killer on 'Immigrant's Song' and 'Trampled Underfoot', but 'Kashmir' is gonna be a bitch.
