Many women, especially of the baby boomer generation and before, prefer for people not to know their real age. It's a really old-fashioned thing that thankfully not too many people are really practicing anymore.

Well, GH, it would be another matter entirely if someone walked up to Anita and asked her how old she was. That I'd take issue with. But as it seems to be pretty common knowledge anyway...
