Hi Guys

(Text file taken from when I offered this on Sharing The Groove, where it got pulled for being an official release, which it definatly is not!!)

This is my first torrent!. Hopefully the first of many.

Fantastic sounding concert. Slight bit of Overdubbing by Queen to tart it up a bit as it was going to be released, but they decided not to bother. It did get released on video if you bought the limited edition Box of Tricks.

Lineage CDR-->CdParanoia-->FLAC
Source: SBD
(I am a Linux User so EAC is not an option for me. CdParanoia is the linux equivilent and just as good)

My max upload speed is 256kb/s so you will need to bear with me, we will get this out ASAP

**Please don't MP3 this!!**

***And please leave it open once you are finished so others can get it!***

Title In The Lap Of The Gods
Label Splat Cat Music
Catalog # SCM 01
Show place Rainbow Theatre, London, England
Show date 19, 20 November 1974 - Shear Heart Attack UK/European Tour

Tour
------

1974 : the Queen II album, released in March in the UK (April in North America) had sold more than 100.000 copies in six months.
Queen began a new tour in October, starting at the Palace Theatre in Manchester on October 30th. This tour was to end in London on November 19th, before continuing in Scandinavia.
The tickets for this unique gig in London sold out in two days, so the promoters had to add a venue on November 20th ...

Concert
----------

Talks had taken place to film and record both nights. The idea was the possible release of a live album.
This idea was finally rejected by the band itself : although they loved to play live, they were not enthusiastic about a live album (thinking moreover it wouldn't be a good financial operation), so the project was abandoned.
The show is brillant though, and the band sounds very well, in front of a 3,500 capacity crowd - the band was even given an award for having sold out all their shows during this tour ! The Procession taped intro is followed by Now I'm Here, one of the six songs from the newly released (November 8th) Sheer Heart Attack album the band played during this tour - all the six songs being played on this gig. Three of them are part of a medley, featuring In The Lap Of The Gods, Killer Queen (during which John plays triangle !), The March Of The Black Queen and Bring Back That Leroy Brown, with Brian's excellent ukulele solo ! This medley will be performed and modified many times troughout the years.
Some other good stuff was played during this show : a brilliant performance of White Queen (As It Began), several songs linked together - Son And Daughter/Father To Son/Keep Yourself Alive/Liar, ended by a reprise of Son And Daughter ... The shows ends up with an encore featuring Jailhouse Rock (during which Freddie throws roses to the audience ...), and Roger destroys the whole drum set at the very end - which can be dinstinctly heard on the CD !!
For the first time, the concert ends with the taped arrangement of the national anthem God Save The Queen, which will become the classical ending of every Queen show.

8/10. Excellent mono recording. Although there's a little hiss and sound weakening sometimes, the CD sounds close to an official release.

A must-have for every Queen collector !!

"Slight bit of Overdubbing by Queen to tart it up a bit as it was going to be released"

Slight?

Just about every vocal harmony for this release was an overdub. This is definitely not an honest document of a Queen concert.

Maybe "Slight" was a bit of an understatement. But most queen fans love the show, defintaly worth downloading. It is the only show I have that is overdubbed.

Still some more crackers to come :)

Its 327 MB downloadable size.

It is in FLAC format which you can convert to WAV and burn to a cd. When it is converted to WAV it will be about 600MB
