I read somewhere that freddie planned how the whole funeral should be and that they played "You've Got A Friend" while they carried his coffin out. Does anyone know if this is true?

I don't know but I'm starting to think we should have a separate forum just for people who want to discuss Freddie's departure and everything related to it.
All will be revealed in the forthcoming 'Private & Personal Diaries Of Freddie Mercury (1946-1991)

What the hell is this shit? Aren't you allowed to talk about the members of Queen here anymore. On almost every new topic on this forum there is someone complaining about it. Don't read if you aren't interested!
"I read somewhere" is a good way to start a topic if you don't remember where you read it. I have read in the "Suosikki" magazine in 1997 that You've Got a Friend was played on Freddie's funeral, but it didn't say if this was his wish or if it was someone else's idea. My opinion is that they could have chosen some Queen song instead.

Phoebe was looking after all this stuuf- what and how it's gonna happen... But it is somewhere in his book that Freddie had some kind of idea(s) of how he wanted this to look like...
I'm sorry I seem to fail to understand what's so strange about planning your own funeral? Everyone should. It makes things much easier for the ones who stay behind. I don't know what music was played at Freddie's cremation, I think it was religious music (zarathustra- sp?).
Doesn't most of the people plan their funeral?
Reminder: Freddie was human aswell guys!, And Freddie's death wasn't a surprise to him and his close friends
