It seems to me that some guitar solo's from Keep Yourself Alive are the same then some solo's from Christmas Time of the Darkness. I'm I the only one who hear the similarity or did some of you hear it too?
I got to try al little more, because I'm an asshole but I'm learning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfTLkUcQ7QY

It's a rip off!

Does anyone really care?.
There must be more to life than this.

This is getting too sad. Poor Darkness. Some Queen fans will never accept them.

Is that the song they released at christmas?! Cause if so, I remember someone uttering that it was a rip-off of Somebody to Love! And another said it was a rip-off of One Vision??! Weird...

Peace,
Adam.

hmmmm...oooh and what about the few opening notes in the guitar riff at the beginning of I believe in a thing called love; sounding parculiarly like the opening riff to one vision? Hmmmm maybe I am just too bored LOL.

Honestly, not that I particularly listen out for that kind of thing, but I noticed that, too. In fact, when watching the footage of them working in the recording studio on One Vision- at the start, where Brian's playing- my little brother actually thought he was playing I Believe In A Thing Called Love.
Despite the fact that song wasn't to exist for another 18-odd years.

Well, one of my friends even noted another 4 songs which sounded slightly like I Believe In A Thing Called Love (he is just slightly fanatical with a love of Queen, and hatred of the Darkness, so any opportunity to accuse them off ripping off songs lol!)
Namely: Hammer To Fall (guitar part, apparently), Breakthru (lyrics) Crazy Little Thing Called Love (title) and Flash (vocals)

...pretty sad if you ask me lol, but whatever! ^_^

It's funny how I never noticed any of these things until you guys mentioned it...they're probably just tipping their hats to Queen.

Mind you, I quite like the Darkness so perhaps that's why these things don't bug me so much.

I like The Darkness too. I don't mind they copy Queen a little bit. Maybe that's why I like them.

There is no shame in being influenced by the best.

Think of all the pretenders to my throne, for a start.
FLASHMAN STRIKES AGAIN! Paul Rodgers is not the best thing since fried Fred.

There is a track on the Darkness album (I think it's called Givin' It but I'm not sure) and when the guitar comes in on the second verse it is just like Hammer To Fall, but in many places on their album the guitar sounds quite May-esque.

I hate the singer of The Darkness. His way to sing is terrible and his behaviour and acting is even worse.
Not those are losers who fall, but those who don't stand up.

the riff of I believe in a thing called love doesn't even sound like One Vision, only the title sounds rip off

Hmmm I think you mean givin' up ( I have their album, hee hee) and yes I agree the guitarist does sound May-esque that's why I think he's fucking brilliant!! He is also a huge fan of Brian though as well so that has probably influenced his playing. He's doing well, I think their guitarist is awesome anyway, I get around the singing LOL, I like to sing along anyway cos I love to sing high. hehe.
