Do you like Queen from the 70's, 80's, 90's (I know there wasn't much from the 90's), or now, when Queen is Brian and Roger?

I'd definitely say I preferred their material from the '70s. Before the synths kicked in, etc.
I do also like their 80s stuff onwards, and I know its cliche now, with any band, to say "I prefer their earlier material" but this honestly is the case.
Plus, IMO the Queen lads were really cute in the 70s, too *feels shallow* Not that that's really important of course.
As for "Queen" now... no comment.

Yes in the 70s, Roger was just PRETTY. When he got that scary 80s hair... um... yes moving on SO the era of Queen I liked best was from 77-79 in terms of live shows. In terms of material? 74-76 was just awesome. :-)

Have to add that yes, Roger was pretty! ;) John didn't fare so well with the long hair, though.

John's long hair was awful but the 'fro was pretty damn cool. Seriously. It's so unexpected and floofy haha

Well, there is also the 60's era (at least Doin' Alright and Polar Bear were written in the 60's) and 00's era (thanks to 46664, Jubilee show, Pepsi ad and other events).
To make this more interesting, let's make some more eras.
The Very Early Era (up to '73)
Over The Top Era ('74-76)
Late 70's Era ('77-'79 including some songs from The Game)
Synths Overdoze Era ('80-'82)
Euro Pop Era ('84-'86)
Collective Era ('89-'91)
After-life Era ('24.11.91-'97) (MIH songs written in the 80's belong to this cathegory as well, OK?)
Brian & Roger (plus Guests) Era (up to today)
Using this categorisation, I'd say 'Over The Top Era'. The music's just great and the costumes they were wearing back then... Takes my breath away!

Somewhere between 1970ish and 1993ish. ;D
*actually, The 90's stuff is my favorite. ;p

I was counting present day Queen (Brian, Roger, and whoever else they've decided to play with) as 00's. But I think I would have to agree with the new categories, and with the Over The Top Era being the best, in my opinion.

I must say I like "The Works"-era pretty much - coz that´s the era i noticed them for the very first time - and have immediately been strucked down...

The "Collective Era" was definitely their best. I on't really know how to explain it, but all the other eras seem like ancient hostory for me, but 1989-91 is almost the same time in what I have lived in. Also most of the best songs and videos come from this "new" era.

1970-1980
Than I really, really can't stand most of the stuff from 1982-86 and than back to good form again...
And Queen for me doesn't exist after 1991, with an exception for MIH and NOBY...

"Also most of the best songs and videos come from this "new" era."
Absolutely not true. You may think these were the best songs, but tracks like Somebody To Love, Bohemian Rhapsody and Killer Queen are way better than Breakthru or The Invisible Man.
Video wise you're right - in the eighties special fx came up and they were able to do stuff they couldn't do in their 70's videos.

I think the best "era" was from Queen II up to and including Hot Space. Before and after that was still good, but not quite as good.
Within that time period, I feel the early to mid 70's had the best studio work and the late 70's and early 80's had the best live work.
