Wow... what a funny, clever movie... er, rockumentary! I bought it yesterday and I just think it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. What does everyone think of "This Is Spinal Tap"?

Aaaahhhh
The majesty of rock
the mystery of roll
the darning of the sock
the mining of the coal
Can't beat it....

Apparently when Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne/Black label society guitarist) first saw it, he genuinely thought it was a real documentary about a real English rock band. I Don't know if that is a testament to the films attention to detail or Mr Wylde's lifestyle.

I thought it was shite - I can't understand all the hype.

Brilliant laugh from start to finish. And heres a bit of useless info for ya - it was all based on British metal band Saxon. Harry Shearer (Derek Smalls) said so in an interview. "I even copied their bass players style of playing using open strings, so that I could point at the crowd"

Haha... I LOVE the Stonehenge part, and the part during the credits where Marty asks them what they'd be doing if they weren't in Spinal Tap and then we get to Nigel who is pretending to be a salesman. CLASSIC.

I liked it generally, although I found some of the humor to be too stupid to laugh at. The stonehenge bit was great, as were the cameos and the many Gumby references. I liked Guffman the best of all the Guest films.
And I have a grudge against Spinal Tap because Rolling "Full of Shit" Stone said it was the #1 Cult movie of all time. Come on. Even Spinal Tap fans say that Rocky Horror is #1.

Rocky Horror IS number 1... nothing can ever top that! :-)

I don't like ROcky Horror at all. However, Spinal Tap is my all-time favorite movie. And it is also probably the best DVD ever too. The extras themselves are worth the price alone!
