I think you took me a little too seriously White! I was only thinking about the download time for something that is similar to MP3. Minidisc also records to a lossy format. Sorry to bring it up. :(

Minidisc does to record to a lossy format. But the loss if done right is negligable. And when you have the master why make it worse by mp3ing it?
The loss in sound quality in comparison to MP3 is unjustified, it is like comparing watching a cinema movie on DVD and then on a dodgy VHS on a black and white TV. I just cannot see the comparison.
Mp3 are ok for a quick listen to somthing, but in my opinion is an abomination for trading circles who like to preserve the quality of the original recording.
If people mp3'd concerts which are already ropey quality converted them back to wav, then remp3'd them they would be totally unlistenable.

Minidisc was measured as being the equivalent of a 320kbps MP3.
The only reason I mentioned this was because I was thinking of all the people who don't want to download such a big file that had originally been from minidisc. Modem users, maybe?
The resulting MP3s at 320kbps wouldn't have sounded any worse if they were encoded well. Sorrrrrrrryy for wondering. :(

**Possible Alert** again...
I see that one of the new music torrent downloads on the Supernova site is...THIS ONE! Did you submit it to them? Or are they being sneaky?
Peace,
Adam.

If sharing music is the objective, is not additional torrents for sharing a good thing?
Henry V · Member since
I take it you need the hub to download?
Adam Baboolal · Member since
No, read the last torrent thread. White was not happy that other sites would hijack the file.
And no, you don't need to be on the hub to get this concert. Just download a torrent client. All details should be within this or any of the previous threads.
Peace,
Adam.

I do not understand White's objection. Should not White feel proud that these concerts are shared, even if it is done outside his torrent?

Double post

It's the same torrent...

What is wrong about the Supernova site sharing the concert as well? The object is to share the FLAC concert with as many people as possible - Is it not? Why does it matter if people get the concert from Supernova instead of Whiteman admin?

OK - Thanks Richard

In theory I dont object to suprnova having it listed. In fact i think what i will do next time I post a show is post it to Suprnova which will save someone else doing it
My concerns however about somone posting the file on suprnova is 2 fold.
1. They took a torrent file from here, and put it there without permission. Although a tracker uses very little bandwidth, it is still Richards bandwidth to use as he sees fit.
The whole purpose of the Queen torrent site, is so that peoople know where to come to get some good concerts. That richards site http://www.queenzone.com gets the hits and recognition it deserves. I would be happy if they linked to this forum and people could get the file from here, although i know it doesn't work that way.
2. As someone quoted me, in my opinion suprnova's downloaders tend to be more hit and run than to keep it open for others. As long as they share at least as much as they download then I do not have a problem with them downloading it.

Hi, Henry.
No, the hub is a different thing from the BitTorrents. This show is available in both, as far as I know. I have got mine, which is a great mp3 file from the hub. - I gotta put that CD back in the car cd player - :D
To know the difference between both the Hub and BitTorrents, follow the links in the first post of this thread for info on BitTorrents, and visit the site below for information about the hub.
