I can't believe this is encoded in Flac. It came from a minidisc man! That's only mildly better than MP3.
Ah well, I'll still download it. My brother always tells me I should've gone with him to the Glasgow show. Guess this is closest I'll get!
Peace,
Adam.

I would say over 75% of the current concerts are recorded on minidisc. Which if sone right sound great. This one has A1 soud on it.
FLAC us lossless. MP3 is lossy. Would you prefer I share as MP£, someone downloads it and trades it on audio CD and pollutes the trade pool?
I will not trade anything in MP3. Even if my next seen is a dodgy copy someone made wit a tape recorder up his dufflecoat, in 1975, It will still be FLAC.
I'm not forcing you to download it.

Thanks for this show!
I've just started to download, and will keep my connection open for a good while - three or four days at least.

I think you took me a little too seriously White! I was only thinking about the download time for something that is similar to MP3. Minidisc also records to a lossy format. Sorry to bring it up. :(

Minidisc does to record to a lossy format. But the loss if done right is negligable. And when you have the master why make it worse by mp3ing it?
The loss in sound quality in comparison to MP3 is unjustified, it is like comparing watching a cinema movie on DVD and then on a dodgy VHS on a black and white TV. I just cannot see the comparison.
Mp3 are ok for a quick listen to somthing, but in my opinion is an abomination for trading circles who like to preserve the quality of the original recording.
If people mp3'd concerts which are already ropey quality converted them back to wav, then remp3'd them they would be totally unlistenable.

Minidisc was measured as being the equivalent of a 320kbps MP3.
The only reason I mentioned this was because I was thinking of all the people who don't want to download such a big file that had originally been from minidisc. Modem users, maybe?
The resulting MP3s at 320kbps wouldn't have sounded any worse if they were encoded well. Sorrrrrrrryy for wondering. :(

**Possible Alert** again...
I see that one of the new music torrent downloads on the Supernova site is...THIS ONE! Did you submit it to them? Or are they being sneaky?
Peace,
Adam.

If sharing music is the objective, is not additional torrents for sharing a good thing?

I take it you need the hub to download?

No, read the last torrent thread. White was not happy that other sites would hijack the file.
And no, you don't need to be on the hub to get this concert. Just download a torrent client. All details should be within this or any of the previous threads.
Peace,
Adam.

I do not understand White's objection. Should not White feel proud that these concerts are shared, even if it is done outside his torrent?

What is wrong about the Supernova site sharing the concert as well? The object is to share the FLAC concert with as many people as possible - Is it not? Why does it matter if people get the concert from Supernova instead of Whiteman admin?
