Not actually called The Eagles, it's more a one word kind of thing.

For years I dismissed them as country dirge on the grounds of Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Lyin Eyes and Peaceful Easy Feeling being a bit too country and western for my kind, but recently got given the "Hell Freezes Over" DVD for a present, and have actually enjoyed it loads and realised that they might actually have been pretty ace.

What does anyone else think of them? And do you really buy that they're all friends again? And what happened to Felder?

I love the Eagles. They have some GREAT harmony vocals in their songs! I have just bought their 2-CD hits collection actually. Quite a nice set with some awesome songs on it. Sorry that I can't answer any of your questions though... ;D

I think they've always been one of the coolest bands. Such a wealth of great and varied material.

Joe Walsh is particularly fabulous. Not just as a funny and talented musician but as a human. Years ago we had some pretty horrible tornados in and around Wichita. Joe had apparently lived here for a short time.. I think maybe during his high school years. He came here to do a benefit concert for us. And there's a beautiful story about him and how he lost a young daughter which you can read about here:

One of the good guys :)

"Hell Freezes Over" is a fantastic show. Perhaps the best sounding live material I've ever heard. My favorite album of theirs is 'The Long Run'.

I for one prefer the original four-piece Eagles. Desperado is a fabulous concept album. Their latter formations or current existance doesn't really interest me. I didn't give them a second listen until I saw their BBC 73 set, that impressed me. Hotel California didn't.

On Felder..

For a long time, the Eagles were as country as I got. Especially the first two albums. My favorite is "On The Border". Just before they got into more of the rock sound with "One of These Nights", it is the last of the Bernie Leadon influence. My fave song from the album is "My Man". To me, it is where the Eagles and Rick Nelson's 70's California sound come the closest.

Yeah, the new stuff on Hell Freezes over is a bit slack isn't it. They don't sound like they've put particular effort into the songs, but who knows? Maybe they've just lost that spark.

"Desperado" is a favourite song of mine, but outside of that and the obvious one, I don't really know much of their work.

Bland elevator music. Makes Chris De Burgh look like Sid Vicious.

Besides Seven Bridges Road, I agree with Holly.

The Eagles are great!! I remember watching the VHS of Hell Freezes over and listening to the CD of it over and over when I was little. I had some really strange obsession with the guy with the long hair when I was little. Now I like Don Henley. His solo stuff is great!!

I saw the Eagles in concert at Hampden park, Glasgow nearly 2 years ago and it was 3 and a half hours of brilliance.
