Hi
Can anyone help me with this.
For one of my assignments at Uni we have to remix a popular song. I have chosen to remix Under Pressure, but rather than use just the stereo file i want to use the audio from the 5.1 mix as this may give me more material to use (e.g vocals may be isolated on the centre channel).
Is there anyway i can rip the DTS 5.1 mix from the DVD and encode it into separate wav files.
Has anybody done this already to under pressure and have the separate files to hand (.L, .R, .C, Ls, .Rs, .LFE)
I would appreciate any help on this,
Cheers.

Hello !!
Just add a 5.1 compatible card in your PC and plug one of the outputs (ex center channel) in the input of you standard soundcard. Record the stream with a software like Wavestudio or SoundForge, and then you've got the separate track. Am I clear ??
Hope this help !!

Bad move. You'd better be able to sync up all those channels for recording. Bit of a slow and lossy process.
Didn't someone post details on the forum a while back? It might be gone now, but I'm sure it had full details on how to get full quality DTS streams onto your HD.
Peace,
Adam.

I personally use commandline, instead of the GUI though...

Or join the hub. Separate channels used to be there. Not sure if they're still available, though.

yeah, I shared my rips on the hub a few months back. Don't think Under Pressure was that interesting though.
