Well since we're not likely to see those forever in demand box sets for a few generations, why not have Brian stop fiddling about with the musical in Bulgariastan (or where ever it's headed next) and have him and Roger re-work some older tracks into something more worthwhile?
On the "Rocks" album, the "re-take" of "I Can't Live With You" was a tremendous improvement over the original with the drum machines, etc.
So it got me thinking, what other Queen songs could use this kind of treatment?
Say Queen put out a "Rocks Volume 2" CD but instead of including the same old stuff we've heard a thousand times before, use rock tracks that aren't all that well known and deserve a wider audience AND take some gems and give 'em a "Rocks re-take 2004"?
So with that in mind, a wishlist where I'll start with 3 tracks and you lot fill in the rest (up to 17 total);
1- We Will Rock You (BBC/fast version)
2- Staying Power (Rocks re-take)
3- Stone Cold Crazy (Trent Reznor remix)
4-17– ?

4- new version of Hammer to Fall- slow version followed by hard version, with Brian on vocals
5- finish off Feelings Feelings
6- harder version of Action This Day, possibly replace that synth sax style solo

Come to think of it, half of "Hot Space" should be redone!

You're right! I see a Hot Space pattern here. Let's make Dancer a bit harder too while we're at it....

Hot Space should be well alone. Its a classic Queen album because its a different Queen sound. Diversity.(sounds like David Brent)
How about a speed metal version of Misfire?

I agree with BMW on HS. I don't really know what I'd like redone. Possibly none.

Same here. Why (possably) ruin a good thing?

No drum machines!! I love Hot Space as it is but if they could, they should just replace the drum machines with actual drums.

A death-metal version of Delilah would be a nice idea :)
I'd like to see an official CD-release of the Highlander version of A Kind of Magic. They remastered it for the photo-gallery on the Wembley DVD, so shouldn't be too hard to include that.

LOL I wonder how that would come out!

It'll never happen, but I'd quite like too hear a version of 'Hot space' with the often muffled sound cleaned up. OF course, that would only solve half of the problem - the other half being that the songs are not very good on the whole (though UP would beneift from a remastering in this way - I don't mean something like the 'rah' mix on GH3 with those dopey disco drum fills, just a remix of the song in its original form would be very nice).

muffled sound??

Machines (or Back to Humans) I think it could be re-done. I dunno, I feel it has lack of power, as if it wasn't on its maximum possibilities.
Perhaps muffled is not the right word, but the sound is not as clear as it ought t be. Finding a more appropriate term would mean listening to the bloody album again.

Nothing wrong with the sound, unless you've heard the actual tapes and know otherwise. Hmm...have you?
