Please insert your Greatest Hits II disc to a stand-alone CD player and let me know what your player indicates as the total running time.

Make sure it is the version from the U.K. 'Platinum', not the original or 'Gold'.

Thanks!

What is the point of this? I'm confused! :p

I need to know because there could be differences in versions of this disc. I'd appreciate it if someone with the U.K. version could take 10 seconds and do this for me.

Yep- UK, Platinum Collection, Disc II
Total running time, why put into my CD player says: 75:59.
But when I play it on my computer it reads the total length to be: 75:57 (ooh... palindromic)

Erm... anyway, may I ask why?

EDIT: Scrap the above part- I just read the above post, which was not visible at the time of my posting, which answered my question.

Thanks poodle_permed!

That's what I suspected.. it's exactly the same as the original version.

The U.S. version is 76:30/76:28 and has longer versions of A Kind Of Magic (4:24), Radio Ga Ga (5:47), Innuendo (6:31) and The Miracle (5:01) which are all faded out roughly 5 seconds early on the U.K. versions. Also it's a little louder. Obviously a remaster.. maybe they used the 2001 Japanese version. I should compare Greatest Hits 1 from these sets as well.

The U.S. 'Gold' Hits I & II set has the original though.

BTW, the 2 seconds difference between players just depends on whether it counts the standard 2 second pause which all CDs have. Some players count it, others don't.

I'm always happy to help with playback tests. Throw some up here and we'll all take a gander.

Peace,
Adam.
