My friend stole my copy of ANATO

However, that's not what this post is about. He DID steal it, but since he's fallen in love with it (and he's twelve, which is good), I can do without it for a few more days.

This post is about What album should I force him to listen to next?

We are talking about a kid who otherwise likes the Beatles and Zeppelin, so I'm trying to cater toward that.

Also, he took up the guitar recently, and wants to learn some Queen stuff. I've been kind of nudging him along, but I don't really know that much Queen - I don't have a working amp. No "Brighton Rock", please, something a little simpler.

Well, I'd suggest Queen II or SHA. Basically, any of their earlier stuff. That's what a lot people get hooked on first.

As for a song, can this person read guitar tabs? Maybe starting with Freddie's rhythym playing would be a good start, like on Crazy Little Thing.

All kidding aside, he really should pay for what he did. So set up a situation where he's able to steal Hot Space next. He'll turn out gay and you'll have the last laugh!

I say go for the first two albums. They have the heavy and, well, Really all else as well! Yeah, Go for Queen and Queen II.

Pretty much the first five albums (excepting ANATO) and Innuendo, and he'll be a fan for life.

Other than the first 5-6 albums, maybe Live Killers...that's what got me hooked back at age 7.

Well, the good news is, I've got my copy of ANATO back - yay.

The really good news is, I lent Evan News of the World.

The really, really good news is, he LOVES it.

The bad news is that now I am without my favorite Queen album. Hmph.

A perfect situation for CD copying ;)

You see, getting people interested via free music does no harm. He'll grow older and start buying Queen music and no harm will be done.

Besides, what's the difference in him having the only copy vs. a copy?

I rest my case.
