It'd be great if this is where those rumored Freddie tracks came into play... Otherwise, What's the point?

Is this filler for the Hollywood contract, as has been rumored in the past, or an international release, too?

In other words, do our European friends get to suffer as well?

I don't know if it's contract "filler" or not, I believe Queen re-signed with Hollywood a couple of years ago though I have no idea why they'd do that.

I wonder if this is the compilation album the UK will get for X-mas or rather the US equivilent?

Thanks for that great article Lawyeris!

Also, what happened to Brian May's recent statement about letting the compilation CDs go out of print?

And is there a track listing for that new compilation anywhere? Are they going to make the same mistake as always of including the Top 40 singles rather than the FM hits that actually made the band famous?

I wonder if by the title of the release (Greatest Hits: We Will Rock You) if this is a direct tie-in for the musical due to open in Vegas in September.

Seems odd to me. Why replace GH and Classic Queen, which can be found in any record shop and obviously still sell well, with a one disc set?

Sounds like Queen to me...

Having just picked up the new Who compilation Then And Now, which marks their 40 years, perhaps this Queen compilation is intended to mark the anniversary of "Seven Seas Of Rhye"? - their first chart single. The Who album contains singles from throughout their career including two new songs, and if the rumour about the new Freddie tracks are true, then perhaps this is a similar outing for Queen? Whether it's possible to cram the most profile Queen singles, with 3 new tracks onto 1 CD, remains to be seen.

Even if this is another compiliation of Greatest Hits, we all have these songs anyway... but then if it includes these new songs, I'll definitely buy it. Seems to be an exciting year for Queen!

As a huge fan of previous compilations this absolutely TERRIBLE! There already is a album called "Greatest Hits" and one called "We Will Rock You" for the musical. This does nothing but confuse the public. On top of the title confusion it is just another unneccesary compilation to confuse the public and contradict the others. This is what low class groups who don't have control over their own music do such as Deep Purple, Lynard Skynard, and the list goes on and on...why is this happening? I know people have complained of them in the past but at least they were part of a series and except for the U.S. versions they were unto themselves throughout the world. Noooooo!!!!
