What with all the threats to leave and never darken the doorstep of Queenzone I thought I'd leave some reminders of the last words of the good, the great, the unheard of and the downright made up stuff (see William Wallace, probably scripted by Mel Gibson himself and financed by the US film industry).

Bogart, Humphrey (1899-1957)
"I should never have switched from Scotch to Martinis."

Jake Britt (anytime between 1965 and 1995 - )
"I'll be here forever!You fuckers can't ban..."

Crosby, Bing (1903-1977)
"That was a great game of golf, fellers."

Louis XIV (1638-1715)
"Why are you weeping? Did you imagine that I was immortal?"
(To his deathbed attendants .)

Malcolm X (1925-1965)
"Cool it, brothers..."
(His last words before being assassinated.)

Marx, Karl (1818-1883)
"Go on, get out. Last words are for fools who haven't said enough."

Charles Baer (who cares)
"I won't be spamming you guys for a while I'm going on a plane journey"

Picasso, Pablo (1881-1973)
"Drink to me."

Rodgers, James W. ( -1960) [American criminal]
"Why yes, a bullet-proof vest!"
(Last request before the firing squad.)

Roosevelt, Franklin Delano (1882-1945)
"I have a terrific headache."

Dubious Dave (2002 - 2002)
"You Americans are fat and wobbly and can't play golf."

Sedgwick, John (1813-1864)
"Nonsense, they couldn't hit an elephant at this distance."
(after a suggestion that he should not show himself above
the parapet during the Battle of the Wilderness.)

Saki (Hector Hugh Munro) (1870-1916)
"Put that bloody cigarette out."
(Just before being shot by a sniper, 14 November 1916)

Thomas, Dylan (1914-1953)
"I have just had eighteen whiskeys in a row. I do believe that is a record."

Wallace, William (1270-1305, Scottish Patriot)
"Freedom"

Wells, Herbert George (1866-1946)
"Go away... I'm all right."

And as for myself...

Sir Archie Leach (1974 - )
"What do you mean it's my round? I paid for the taxi! I don't feel well."
Nancy Astor : "If I were your wife I would put poison in your coffee". Winston Churchill : "And if I were your husband I would drink it".

Hearty congratulations from The Towers, Sir Archie, you old duffer.
You are one of the finest eggs ever hatched, and I for one am proud to regularly annihilate you at tennis, golf, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and Othello.

Chin up, old bean.
