I am proud to report that on MTV's 22 Greatest Voices of All Time, Freddie was #2, second only to Mariah Carey. He even beat Whitney. I was very pleased.
BTW, we are talking USA MTV. This is huge for US Queen fans!!

Hmm, cool... :)

Maybe I'm biased, but he shouldn't have been second. At least not to Mariah Carey. I think Freddie's voice is better than hers.

I'd have to agree, even with removal of my rather obvious bias. Mariah's voice just doesn't sound very good to me... at all. Vastly overrated, as far as vocals are concerned, in my opinion... plus I certainly question the natural talent of an individual who requires the assistance of a computer to produce her "record-breaking" high note.
Still, 2nd is, of course, very good indeed ^_^

Funny... I KNOW it is. ;D

Seems whoever decided the list didn't know, though, although most of those lists are pretty bad...

About 4 or 5 years back there used to be a show on VH1 called "The List" where a panel of five second-teir celebrities would name their top two choices for whatever the category was--i.e. Best Power Ballad, Best Concert Movie, etc.
One time they did Best Voice, and Freddie squeaked in as one of the two "audience selections." Unfortunately, the panel that night was headed by Henry Rollins, and like the ignoramus he is, all he could do was make rude comments about Freddie's dental issues.
Needless to say, the results of that list were totally bogus. Glad to see some vindication has finally arrived.

I'm mad about that too but hey, 2nd is better than 22nd!

I am surprised he didn't do that while narrating "Legends: Queen". ;D

She doesn't so much sing as she does squeal.
Curiously do you know the entire list? I'd like to see where Marcel Marceau came in.

1. Mariah Carey
2. Freddie Mercury
3. Whitney Houston
4. Bono (what's this clown doing here?)
5. Christina Aguilera (what's this slut doing here)
6. Alanis Morissette
7. Kurt Cobain
8. Björk
9. Celine Dion
10. Tupac Shakur
11. Michael Jackson

Too many bitter tears a'raining down on that list. Oh!

I feel flattered that Freddie is so high on the list, but there are glaring omissions, as well as many people who should not be there at all. Where are Elton John, Phil Collins, Robert Plant, and David Lee Roth? And what about Lennon/McCartney, for Christ's sake?? If Emimem and Tupac can make this list, then all of these guys should be there as well. Fuck Celine Dion, Bono, and Cobain. I'd rather have Robbie Williams on the list than them.
But once again, we have to ask the question... what is the criteria? Quality of voice, quality of lyrics, overall contributions to pop culture, range of music quality diminished, number of arrests, or number of people they've shot...?

In a list of great voices I'd expect them to be for singing. SINGING. I question the additions of rappers because, well, all they do is talk fast and with poor grammar.
I have a feeling that as usual this is based on some clown's personal opinion. Some clown with some really bad tastes.
