I noticed that, not only is IWIA credited as May on GVH2, that it is also credited as May on the 46664 DVD as well.

Before you give me any heck, let me explain.

They performed BohRap, IWIA, Break Free, and RGG as the medley, right?

Well, on the booklet credits, it says (Mercury / May / Deacon / Taylor).

I think that if it were to be credited as it is on most other CD releases, it would read (Mercury / Queen / Deacon / Taylor), because on the disc 1 medley, Invincible Hope / 46664 - The Call / The Show Must Go On, they credit these songs as (Taylor / Mandela / May / Queen).

It seems Brian is taking more credit for Queen than he should be, doesn't it?

More useless bashing? *Sighs*

Correct. Watch out next week for a topic called "who really wrote those Miracle/Innuendo tracks anyway?"

I think we already had a discussion once about Brian now taking the credit he deserves for IWIA.

Here's the back story:

Brian's last top ten single for the group had been 'Flash'. All through the 80s Brian felt increasingly left out as everyone else had the bigger hits.. even Roger! These hits also resulted in extra writer's royalties.

Finally Brian had enough of this curse and decided he wanted a piece of the action. He suggested to the band in 1989 that the 'Miracle' tracks be credited to Queen as he wanted to see if one of his might do better if he weren't the sole creditee. They agreed.

So the first single comes out and hits U.K. #3. Brian's 'I Want It All'. His point is proven but now he begins to wish he'd kept the writing credit instead of having to split the royalties.

Of course, when 'Innuendo' came around, everyone had stated publically what a great decision it had been to credit the whole band, so they had to continue that for awhile.

So I would imagine he's just trying to get the full credit he deserved back then and heal some old wounds.

Actually, Gay Jeff's idea makes sense...

It is a medley so I suppose all four writers are in there. I suspect that is what has happened. Your reading too much into it Dark. If they had put 'Queen' as the collective songwriter no-one would have noticed.
Guess who's back?
