Last night, I went to see René Froger (worldwide famous dutch singer, in the Netherlands that is) at the Amsterdam ArenA (sold-out, 60000 people) and he played a Queen-medley in the 2nd part of the show.
He started with It's a beautiful day and continued with parts of Radio ga ga, Somebody to love, Bohemian rhapsody (the operatic section!), I want to break free, Crazy little thing called love, The show must go on, Don't stop me now and We will rock you. I'm not too fond of other people singing Queen-songs, but it's quite a kick hearing 60000 people join in during the operatic section or the chorus of Radio ga ga. For dutch people wanting to see the show: there is another performance monday evening that still has some tickets left.

I've heard lots of people GOT tickets (my boss got tickets from MIELE I think)... Froger isn't as 'big' these days as he used to be I think - never liked him anyway :)

I think the meaning of this topic was to let us in on a great event... having Queen songs played live and sung and enjoyed by a stadium full of people, most likely not all Queen fans. This must have been a great feeling for you.
Too pity replies on this kind of posts are mostly utterly negative.

His last name reminds me of the arcade game, Frogger.

eek René Froger.....it's as if everyone thinks they can sing Queensongs these days... :S

*edit*
but I must add that it's nice that people still have fun with Queensongs although I wouldn't be interested in these kind of things I won't deny anyone else their fun of course ;-)

This show will be broadcasted tonight on Dutch TV - I think on RTL4 or SBS6 - not sure.

I've just seen the Queen Medley, and I think it was quite good. Didn't expect this at all. Of course this guy isn't the next Freddie, but it was a OK. He looked extremely exhausted after the medley though...

He's a pretty good singer, although I don't like much of his songs. And he's a great entertainer. Wonder how he pulled off the Queen tracks

My comment was meant only as a joke. I don't even know her/him.
