I was listening to 'My Fairy Queen' the other day and there are a one or two points I would like to make about Freddie's apparent lack of respect for the environment.
"In the land where horses born with eagle wings"
Surely this is a reference to tampering with animals at a genetic level. Can you imagine the damage flying horses would cause in inner cities?
"And honey bees have lost their stings"
Honey bees have every right to defend themselves against natural predators.
"They're singing forever"
Noise pollution.
"Lion's den with fallow deer"
Evicting Lion's from their homes and replacing them with fallow deer is hardly a soloution to the increase in homeless big cats.
"And rivers made from wine so clear flow on and on forever"
Denying a fresh water supply is bad enough but to replace it with alcohol would lead to a rise in crime and domestic violence among woodland creatures.
"Dragons fly like sparrows through the air"
I often feed the sparrows that visit my back garden. In the winter I leave out seed and bacon rind. Am I expected to tie young virgin girls to a stake in my back garden for the dragons as well?
"And baby lambs where Samson dares"
Samson was the strongest and fiercest warrior ever to walk on God's green earth. Freddie would like to see baby lambs tackle things that Samson himself would shit his pants if confronted with. The baby lamb would have to be the size of a fully grown African elephant with razor sharp teeth and a surfase to air missile grafted on to it's head.
It seems clear to me that Freddie didn't give a hoot for the welfare of our planet and I for one hope he rots in hell.
