I wonder if that biopic of him starring Jamie Foxx will be any good?

One of my favorite memories of my father is him picking me up in his arms and dancing me around the living room to "I Can't Stop Loving You" when I was very small.

RIP Ray...

You didn't have to be a fan of the blues to enjoy Ray Charles. His sheer personality made you sit up and take notice.

very sad :( Read this a few hours ago and showed to my dad a few minutes ago. I echo fatty's sentiments.

NOW... THAT'S AN AMERICAN PEOPLE SHOULD MOURN!

As far as I'm concerned Ray Charles...

- Never raised taxes for the working class and made the rich more wealthy than they were already.

- Never sold weapons or gave aid to foreign leaders (many of them tyrants) that would later become our enemies.

- Never bombed contries around the world and never killed innocent people.

And for those who think Mr. Ray Charles wasn't patriotic enough, then perhaps they should listen "America The Beautiful".

Ray Charles dedicated his lifetime to create beautiful music and he influenced a handful of great artists.
Unlike Reagan, Ray Charles has a special place in heaven.

I always find it interesting how several celebrities all seem to pop off at once. Last time I think it was John Ritter, Robert Palmer and Warren Zevon all within a few weeks.

Ergh, that's horrible. I really liked Ray Charles. I thought it was cute how he did that guest spot on 'The Nanny'. And I agree... we should mourn him more than Reagan.

My cat and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to family, friends and fellow fans of this superbly talented musician. Music has lost one of its most sincere voices.

This is one of the VERY few celebrity deaths that made me cry... I love Ray Charles's music so much... This is a VERY sad day indeed. I for one will miss him for as long as I live.

I can't say I have heard a lot of his music but I did like Blues Brother so I'm rather saddened.
