Well, I got through at the beginning of the show and was put on hold for almost the entire hour and one-half!! I was told to change my question once and just when I thought I had an ace-in-the-hole by saying I'd actually seen the musical, another Breakthruer stole my thunder!! Blast!! *LOL* My hand is sore, my ears are sweaty and I had to listen to the entire show through the phone but by God it was worth it!!! I may never again get to hear Roger speaking through my phone!! *LOL*
Anyway, the boxsets are officially placed on the backburner, so no surprise there. But it is good to know there are other live realeases somewhere down the line!

What all did they talk about? Was GVHIII mentioned?
Brandon · Member since
They talked mostly about WWRY. And the comment by the host at the end about being able to play 90 mins of music and still have 90 more to spare was a joke!! Between the commercials, his domineering guidance of the conversation and the applause I doubt we got 30 mins of real talk time.

That's typical of Rockline. It's a great program, but they interupt too much for it to take 90 minutes.
I recorded it all (thanks Jeffrey), but only got to listen to the first 30 minutes, and even then I was very distracted. Who got through that we might know? Did you actually get through Brandon?

They talked about the viagra commercial, Roger had a smart comeback! "perhaps you could use some" is what I think he said to Brian and Brian said back "erm no I'm fine thanks!"

I got through to the producer or whoever it is that takes your call first with about 30 mins to go, he wrote down my question and said that it was a good one, but I never got to go on the air before the show was over... BUT I did get to hear something kinda cool.
I stayed on the line through the end of the show, and after about 2 minutes of dead air the audio came back on to me and I could hear Roger and Brian talking to the host. He was trying to get them to record what I guess was the 'encore question' like the one they got from INXS.
So, I didn't get to talk to them, but I did get my precious little candid moment.

FREAKIN A!!!!!
I CALLED IN! I sat for half an hour with my cell phone, pressing re-dial until I got through. I didn't get to talk to the boys though. I spoke to the operator and this was in the last 15 minutes of the show. He said he'd send my question along to Brian and Roger and told me to hang on the line.
Well I hung on the line. For fifteen minutes. Then the show ended.
I never got to ask my question! I was sitting there for so long, my stomach tensed in anticipation, my heart beating really fast. Can you imagine -- actually SPEAKING to them? A dream come true!!!
So close... yet so far away.
Anyway, my question was: "If Freddie were still alive, what direction could you see yourselves going in, musically?"
Oh well.

I got the whole thing recorded in 6 segments. Just got the smooth intros and outros done and no commercials, but I'm torn as to whether to get rid of the music. I probably will. It's not real pleasant at 20 kbps mono.
They played lots of stuff including a few bits of cast recordings, but the full length tracks were:
We Will Rock You
We Are The Champions
Killer Queen
Keep Yourself Alive (semi-surprise)
Long Away (Big surprise!)
Bohemian Rhapsody

Adam, I got my call in the first three mins!!! I thought I was soooo in!!
Nah, Zeni. I too was told my question was good but then told to change it!(?) So I did but couldn't come up with anything better than asking about their feelings on the fanclub's breaking a world-record and asking if they had anything in mind to celebrate the convention's 20th anniversary. I told the producers I saw the show and they sounded interested and a few minutes later a woman producer came on the line and spoke to me about the fanclub asking questions about Queen's involvement and my own. I REALLY thought I had a chance. Crap! I'm still not going to be able to sleep tonight!

In all fairness though, I'll probably never again respond to the question, "With whom would you like top speak?" with "Brain and Roger!"
Also, they may have kept me off the phone because I was giggling like a girl. Or maybe my accent kept me from speaking to Queen!! *LOL*
Next time, I'll stick with a question about the musical or something we all know already such as the story of the Red Special!! I don't think Rockline is quite up on Queen as much as we are and something like that may have landed me an opportunity to speak with Brian and Roger.

Haha Brandon... yeah, I bet they kept me off because even though I'm 17, I sound like I'm 5 on the phone.
But the operator guy and I were joking around and stuff and then he connected me so I could hear the radio show on my phone. I'm really sad and frustrated that I didn't get to talk to BM and RT. Whatever. :-(
