I think a lot of people who expected to see Brian in Dallas, Texas (US) a few weeks ago would heartily agree with you -- though I don't know if any wanted a refund. I know it made many very angry!

Yep, Dallas was the same situation. Unbelievable.

Luca, I'm taking some more peanuts with me to Benidorm too (I too had a Donegan tribute ticket and waited for Brian's statement which came indeed way too late).

I think its safe to say that Brian didn't go to the tribute bc he is scheduled to be in Las Vegas today at 11am pt for a press conference for the almighty musical.

He should have atleast given his fans fair notice that he wouldn't be there. I know some that traveled a very far distance to go to that JUST to see him.

Guys
I guess the only repsonse to this is "tough luck". This wasn't a Brian May show. It was a tribute to Lonnie Donegan. If you were only going because you wanted see a particular performer then you were always running the risk of disappointment. People's plans change and this time you lucked out.
The show that you booked tickets for went ahead as planned so you got what you paid for .

By all accounts it was a great show anyway so don't be too disappointed.

I don't mind if Brian makes a surprise guest appearance, that happens. But if he's scheduled to perform and his only statements are like "maybe" and "not sure", then it's sad. He could have said one month before the gig "I'm afraid I can't be there" and we'd of course understand. But he never made such a clear statement.

Neil, I can't believe you were there, too. We may have seen each other. If I only had known you would be there, I would have sure bought a drink for you!! It was a good concert and the first time I was in the Royal Albert Hall. I have to admit I was very sorry that Brian did not perform although I already knew it, of course.
I do not want any google ads here.

I think I have already told my story here. I was on a Telecomm summer course in Evry, France on June-July 2002. I made the whole plan to go to Party in the Park 2002 as soon as I found out Brian and Roger would be attending. I went with 6 or 7 other friends (it was a pop concert, after all) and THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP!.. Then I found out Brian was backstage but he didn't came out on stage because this show was "about the musical" and they should be the stars or something like that. Anyway, I had attended Dominion Theather the night before -_-.

March 2004. History repeats. I bought tickets for the Crossroads Guitar Festival after I got an email confirmation from Jen (from Brian's Soapbox) saying he was going to be there.

June 2004. I took a bus the day before, traveled for 12 hours at night and got to enjoy a great concert but, NO BRIAN!!! The reason, once again, THAT BLOODY MUSICAL!!!

Let's hope I get to see him live someday in his lifetime haha :D.

hey Barb

One day I'll get back on the hub and we'll catch up. At the moment I'm far too busy for anything other than work and the baby (and the odd half hour on the 'Zone). Would have been nice to meet, maybe next time :)
I'm moving to London soon so it will be easier .
