Hey all...
I was wondering if any of you have ever listened to anything by this band... their drummer was Yoshiki (who worked with roger etc etc...he also played x-box with bill gates XD). They're absolutely marbelous (though some may say cursed.) their finest album is by far Dahlia... and I dont know, i just figure some of the songs from their catalog would strike something in queen fans. X had a most industrious guitarist named hide who is monstrously popular in japan and released TONS of really good solo work. HE unfortunatley died in 98 or so (part of the X curse perhaps...) but yeah, his legacy is still going strong...
just wondering...

I have been meaning to try and track down some of their stuff, But I haven't gotten around to it just yet. Gotta buy those Lupin III soundtracks you see...

I have their performance on the Great Music Experience in Nara, Japan on video. But that's all I've heard from them. Must say, they look and sound pretty weird! It's nicely heavy but I'm afraid I realy don't dig the singers voice... Very good musicians, though. But what do you expect from Japanese. Seems like they are all virtuoso!

yeah, it took me a LONG time to get used to Toshi's voice... at first it just made me shudder, but then I heard their song "drain" and it was perfect for his voice, it didnt sound abrasive at all, it was just a wonderland. But then again that was one of his last songs with them...

A Korean friend of mine introduced me to this band, and I have to say they're excellent. 'Endless Rain' is an awesome power ballad. I don't know how can someone listen to it and not like it.

Btw... didn't one of the members of the band kill himself around 1998 or smth?

I've heard of them (thanks to Dan here), but I don't know much about them. I associate "X" and "Japan" with something entirely different that you may or may not have heard of, Paloma :) I'll look them up, though. I'm always good to go for new music.

X as in the clamp thing??

the curse of X
Guitarist hideto matsumoto hung himself in a hotelroom with a bathroom towel after getting unusually drunk for himself. He was found by his girlfriend and died on the way to the hospital. His fueneral was massive and I believe some fans themself were killed in some way...
Vocalist Toshi joined a music therapy cult and hasnt really beeen seen or heard of outside of the cult.
and I believe his name was Heath (the bassist) has taken so many drugs hes a freaking vegetable now.

Quite sad...-_-

Hideo, what a wasted talent.

GLAY arguably is better, though.
