I think the show is going to wake up many Americans to what a great band Queen really were. I think it will definately increase Queen's CD sales and general popularity. I think the demand is going to push them to open the shows in other US cities perhaps Broadway.
I'm just elated that Brian said that the show is coming to Toronto next year!

i would call it a re-awakening--
a reminder of what millions in the states loved for years....
will it last? who knows--
could be 15minutes- could be longer--
the longer and wider they promote the better--
jasen101 Breakthru may be in that area next year during WWRY too......

No, a musical will not signficantly enhance Queen's status in the USA. Sorry. It would have to move to Broadway and become an incredible sensation in that it's covered in every newspaper/magazine and have virtually every talk show covering it (Queen and cast members being on SNL, Letterman, Leno, Conan, Kilborn, Regis, etc etc etc.)
Not gonna happen. All it's gonna do is put a few more dollars in Queen's pockets.

It's a little weird that it's opening in Vegas. "New Las Vegas musical" doesn't have quite the cachet of "new Broadway musical." It was probably a little easier to put it together in Vegas, rather than deal with Broadway logistics, unions, competition, etc., but they sacrificed some prestige there, I think. Though of course I haven't seen it, and maybe WWRY's inherent genius will more than compensate.

True...almost as bad as people saying (at last year's fan club convention in Dallas, TX) that the musical would premiere in, of all places, Cleveland? GAAH!
New York would have been more suitable, IMHO!! Think of seeing Queen's name in ten-foot-tall letters in Times Square. Think of the business on Broadway! That would have been so excellent...but I'm sure we have major financial backer Robert DiNiro to thank for the Vegas thing. (Sounds very "Godfather Part V: The Queen Musical" to me!! LOL)
Woulda, coulda, shoulda...

it is ultimately aimed for a Broadway run--
and who was that that mentioned it would open in Cleveland? why it was Brian... then two weeks later it was Minneapolis... then it wasnt ... then it was Vegas

If Brian and Roger suddenly appear on Oprah one day in the near future hawking the musical, I definitely will think they finally sold out!
God, please let Brian and Roger keep their heads...

And then they re-re-re-release Bohemian Rhapsody which goes to #1 AGAIN! Then Brian stars in E.R as a sick guy!
PR -- PR -- PR!!!!!!
Let's see...Ladies Home Journal next...Star Magazine next...People Magazine cover story next with J Lo on the sidebar ("J Lo Seen With Roger Taylor At WWRY Premiere -- Is It Love??")...
Lord have mercy once, twice, three times....
