I'm sure some of you read my post in the WWRY Vinou topic where, when I was talking about working on the 46664 "Stage Of Champions" CD project (which btw. I've got good news - see bottom of post for), that I mentioned I might possibly release the "New York At Last" Smash remix as an independent single release also to raise money for 46664.
My question for you guys is: Would you prefer the single format to be a CD-Single, or a 12" vinyl single?
Also, regarding the good news on the 46664 SoC CD project, Guitar Hero has happily agreed to work with me, to do some guitar work for at least a lot of the tracks (which I still haven't decided what tracks are going to be done, as of yet). So I'm very happy right now :)

I would like both a 12" and a CD. The 12" for display, The CD for listeniing.
By the way, That's cool about you and GH! :D

I agree about both, but I would certainly play both! (I still listen to my Queen vinyl!)

I decided that I would probably do both a CD and a 12" release. I spent a good part of the weekend making some edits and doing art cover work.
The edits I made were:
Extended Mix 4:54
Radio Edit 3:54
7" Radio Edit 3:23
I've still yet to contact Smash, but I will do that sometime soon.
Now when I would be able to get the whole thing released is another question :P

Did you cut out the painfully boring intro in the edit versions? Great song, bad intro...

Hold on 1 sec... first, won't you have to get permission from the powers that be about this? Also, its only an mp3, not worthy of official release since its audible frequency does not extend beyond 16Hz (should be 20Hz)!

Brilliant stuff once more, Dark.
1) You're editing/mixing stuff OTHER people made, without permission from them
2) You're editing/mixing stuff which is illegal, since you/smash didn't have permission from Queen Productions to use this
3) You're actually planning on making a vinyl-12" of an encoded file
4) You were probably making the artwork on 72dpi
Any chance you can upload the artwork somewhere?

Possibly, but not for a few days, as I will be away for the next three-four days while I'm travelling on the Greyhound bus across Canada to Ontario (I leave tomorrow morning). It also depends if I have any DVD-R media I can burn the image to along with other files at the same time.

And btw. this is an excellent quality MP3. I've made sure to check that it doesn't have the wet sound most MP3's do.

On the Radio Edit versions, I did somewhat cut the intros. On the Extended Mix, I did the opposite

Rats....
The song concept is cool, but the intro is nearly unbearable....
I could have done it better, the intro that is, myself....

Well, the intro isn't as long on the Radio Edit. The singing starts sooner than what you would expect on first listening if you're used to the normal version.
Perhaps I'll also upload a sample of the intro, or e-mail it to you, one way or another, DLN

Anyways, I'm going now, so I'll talk to you guys when I get to Ontario. Ciao, amigos!

You can still buy them at many stores, including Best Buy, but I'd check Ebay first. I'm presently trying to buy a new motor for my old but great Garrard turntable. The old one finally burnt out after thirty-odd years!
