Well, there wasn't much of a physical state when MIH was released, just some ashes buried under some cherry-tree ;-)

It's interesting to compare Freddie's hairdo with the kind of songs he wrote at the time.

One thing about Freddie, he was NEVER fat. He never developed a potgut from drinking (great metabolism!), but he did look a little like a stuffed sausage in the blue suit in the Barcelona videos (especially The Golden Boy -- his ears were even sticking out from his head -- wonder if he was on Prednisone because he was quite swollen!). And then began the decline. Look at the Miracle and Scandal videos and see how downright skinny he was, to the point of 1973 Freddie. The cheekbones were in high prominence.
I always remark on the fact that in the Slightly Mad video I could see the Freddie of almost twenty years before. The eyes were the giveaway and the gestures and also the way he was constantly smiling. (The come-hither looks too!)
I find myself humming "Goin' Back" and seeing that in my mind's eye.

I thunk it is water retention from the medication
· Member since
yea it was medication that caused the water retention, also anyone think how young freddie looked in the barcelona era not a single wrinkle on his face, its mentioned in the p-freestone bio about how young freddie looked in real life and how his skin was perfect, i think freddie if he were he today would still look amazing as he was very concerned he looked his best,
