Ah yeah, Family Guy is brilliant. In some ways, I think they're one step ahead of the Simpsons.

Family Guy is a keeper, have the DVD's! It is in some ways better than the Simpsons, but the show could never make it on Fox, too racy. You can't dicsount the long, long reign of the Simpsons, or how the writers can continually come up with funny stuff!

Family Guy is OK but to even compare it to The Simpsons is blasphemy. Family Guy is a montage of unrelated blocks and flashbacks that rely heavily on shock value to bring across its humor and it often fails miserably. Unfortunately, The Simpsons begin mimicking this blueprint for a few seaons but, seemingly, has broken somewhat free for this season-passed.
But of course, Futurama blows them all away with its witty and cutting dialogue and references to anything and everything. A shame it and Angel were cancelled while other shows were obviously more deserving.

For what 'The Simpsons' represents as a show and what it has achieved it is definitely the best TV show ever created. When 'The Simpsons' came out, there was nothing like it on TV. It was their absolute originality and satire of the American society and pop culture that made the show such a huge success.
Sure, perhaps in the last years 'The Simpsons' is not what they used to be... but what people seem to forget is that the show open the doors to a countless number of great prime-time cartoon shows aimed to an older audience than the common Saturday morning cartoon show. If it wasn't for 'The Simpsons' shows like 'South Park' or 'Family Guy' perhaps would have never existed.
The downfall of 'The Simpsons' came with executive producer Mike Scully who suggested lots of celebrity guest appearances, as well as centering the show way too much around Homer. Last season seemed to get a little better though.
I'm very glad that 'Family Guy' will be back in the air in 2005. I seriously can't wait.

I've only really cared for one animated series in the last 20 years or so. King of the Hill. brilliant stuff.

How did Mike Judge went from making a cartoon about 2 stupid teenagers whose only aspiration in life are scoring with chicks, to make a series about an extreme conservative Texan redneck.
The only thing is see in common between 'Beavis & Butthead' and 'King Of The Hill' is that both characters constantly repeat a word when Mike Judge runs out of ideas of what they should do or say...
Beavis & Butthead: Uhhh - huuhh - huuuhh - uuuhh
King Of The Hill: Yyyyeepp - Yyyyep - Yyep

I love family guy, I have to say I think its better than the simpsons sometimes. My favorite episode is definetly when the Kool Aid man breaks through court and say Ooooh Yeah! then backs out slowly. Completely hilarioius! I heard its coming back, i'm quite excited for a new season

The Simpsons is awesome! I prefer it much more over Family Guy. I love that they actually get the real celebrities to do their own voices. There was Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney (and Linda), Britney Spears, and there was that episode when they went to that rock n' roll camp, and there was Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. There were TONS of other celebrity guest voices.
