I'm addicted....

I have a major problem and its one i'm struggling to control....

i just can't stop myself from buying DVDs!
Every time i shop - i bring home several DVDS...
even on the net I'm tempted....

and its not as though i have money to waste...

anyone else have the same problem?

I have that same problem with CDs. I'm a total completist, so every band I like, I *must* own every CD they've ever made. Even a particular CD is meant to be totally awful.
It's very expensive considering I like lots of bands, who have made lots and lots of albums. And I go off groups easily. Total waste of money...

And I'm not on too great an income, by any means. What my mum gives me as pocket money, and money I earn from tutoring/babysitting outside of school. So... it's basically every penny I have.
But... I suppose it could be much worse. I know my mum is grateful it's a CD addiction, as opposed to a drug addiction, or sweetie addiction...

I'm addicted to buying CDs. Every paycheck I get is going towards expanding my collection. I'm also addicted to collecting anything Queen, even though there's so much out there.

I was quite addicted to DVDs for awhile but it finally slowed down a bit when I started getting back into Queen.

I have 322 DVD titles right now, and I started collecting in February 2000. I've done some selling and trading though. Looks like I'm only buying about 3 per month lately.

Last two bought: STYX 20th Century Masters (this is my third disc in this series.. only 5-6 videos with PCM sound but they sell real cheap) and "...And Justice For All" which is an excellent film. Both of these for under $6 each at WalMart :)

My next arrival will be the Queen Greatest Karaoke Flix DVD set, which I've pre-ordered.

Why don't you guys try do what a friend of mine does? He has an addiction for DVD's, his room has two shelves going from floor to roof, filled with them. Yet when he is tired of some movies, he will trade or sell them, rather than keeping DVD's he really has no interest in anymore. Sure, his collection remains large nevertheless, but it keeps it under control. ;-)

It's a sweet film but waaaaay too overrated!!!
Plus, I think it's much too perfect for a cartoon. It hasn't got that special Disney image anymore like classics such as The Beauty and The Beast, Snow White, Arielle, Cinderella, etc...
Those are so much better than Finding Nemo.

I keep buying CDs, too. I don't even know where to keep them all anymore. I don't want to know how much money I've spent on CDs so far, I probably could travel around the world for a year or so...

That's why I download loads of movies.

Why the hell would you spend 25 euros on a movie you only watch twice or so. Just go to the video store, and rent them for a couple of euros. After watching you return them and are happy to not have wasted such a lot of money on a movie like Matrix 3. Really, most DVD collections I've seen consist of utter sh*t.
If you really like a movie, then go out and buy it. It's the same as with the videos in the "old" days. Nobody really bought these things, because after watching them once or twice, you're bored with them. Of course, there are exceptions, like concerts, which you can watch more often. Same goes for some good old porn :p ;)

I sometimes rent a DVD first, and if I like it enough I'll add it to my list to buy when I next feel the urge to see it.

I find that I do rewatch many movies often. Usually a couple times a year I'll watch some of my favorites again. There are a few I've regretted buying.. 'Minority Report' and 'Catch Me If You Can' for example. I haven't watched them again since buying them, but I wanted to own a bunch of Spielberg titles :-P

But I have done lots of selling and trading in the past, when I was buying a lot.. now I'm more careful choosing what to buy. I sometimes put off buying a new release of an older movie, knowing that it will turn up in the bargain bin eventually, and that pays off nicely.

I love the $5.50 bins at Wal Mart. It used to be mostly low-budget stuff, but now there's lots of big movie titles that I guess didn't sell well enough at the usual $20.

I'm addicted to movies in general. Nothing to be worried about, Agneepath!

since getting broadband at home, i'm still buying 2-3 dvds every week but not having the time to watch them!

Then WHY exactly do you buy them? :S

AHHH!!! WAL MART! EVIL! PURE EVIL! They pay their female employees less than males. AND they don't support the union. AND they have the stupidest commercials that make me want to vomit.
